September 7th I was sitting at the edge of the woods towards the back of my school with a couple of my friends having what we would call a 'normal' conversation when one of them decided it was a 'good idea' to actually look around the woods for our first time."Guys I wanna go into the woods." Olympia had said"I'm up for it." Alecto exclaimed, she was always up for adventure."Why? We haven't been in there before, we could get lost." Theia anxiously replied to the two, she was always the one trying to pull us out of doing stupid things but she always lost the fight as we outnumbered her three to one."Artimis? You're up for it aren't you." Olympia asked me hopefully."Okay, after all what's the worst thing that could possibly happen?" I replied never being able to turn down a bit of excitement myself. "Do you guys ever listen to a single thing I say?" Theia asked in a slightly annoyed tone of voice."Of course we do, you know you don't necessarily have to come with us right?" I informed her feeling a bit guilty for two reasons first off this always happens somehow, her always losing and i can't help but feel like its my fault, and second because I knew she hated trying new things especially if she was scared of those things to which I knew she was terrified of entering the woods."Yes I do... someone has to keep you guys in line" Theia said sighing, I knew the real reason why she thought she had to come with us but i kept my mouth shut knowing she didn't want Alecto and Olympia to know the real reason. It was settled that we would come back later that night with food and water incase we got hungry out there.
I was the last to arrive at our little spot most likely because I walked back to the woods as my parents would never have allowed me to go out into the woods at 9:00pm mainly because I had overly protective parents. I knew Alecto had protective parents as well but they would have agreed once they knew that she would be with 'responsible' friends.
"Its about damned time you got here!" Olympia exclaimed as she saw me but giving me a hug, Alecto quickly joined in also welcoming me in the process unlike Theia who stayed silent the whole time probably thinking of ways to talk us out of going into the woods at this hour but there was honestly no point in the matter there was no changing our minds by now.
Theia's pov:
"Why do you guys even want to do this. Honestly what will we even gain from going on this little 'adventure'?" I asked them slightly pissed of at Artemis mostly scared out of my right mind, she knew that I had come here before and thought i heard screams and pleads for help. She always tells me it's probably just my imagination but that's the thing that scares me the most, what if I wasn't hearing things? We could be the ones screaming for help with death following us, knowing no one would help us."We told you, you didn't have to come with us if you didn't want to." Olympia said a little harshly. "Olympia, you know what she's like just give her a break already would you?" Alecto replied, we had been friends for as long as I can remember and knew what my fears were she knew I hated trying new things."Yeah, whatever I was just saying..." Olympia sighed. "I'm right here you guys know?" I snapped a bit, hating it when they talked about me like I wasn't there in reality I was standing right next to them. Suddenly I thought I heard something from behind us and turned around to see nothing, I thought I was probably just hallucinating and kept walking but slowing my pace down so I was behind them. I noticed that Artemis kept looking back at me every now and then to make sure that I was still there. While following Olympia, Alecto and Artemis through this dark and unknown territory I suddenly felt someone put their rough and splintered hand over my mouth and dragged me away from my friends, they hit me over the head with what i think was a rock just as I was about to scream and thats when everything went black....
Artemis Pov:
I turned around to check on Theia again, I've been doing this every so often for two reasons firstly to make sure she's hasn't started to silently cry, and secondly to make sure she's still there. But she wasn't she was gone, nowhere to be seen."Guys... Where did Theia go?!"
