"See ya mum, I'll be with Stacy!" I yelled to my mother before leaving through my bedroom window.
As I left, I only heard a YUUP from inside the building.
I stomped down the stairwells on the outside of the apartment, my heels turning each stair I went down.
I got to the bottom, darkness in the alley bringing home to the misfits like me. A shadow moves and right there comes out my friend Stacy. She's a misfit just like me.
"Hey Stace, what's the news with you?"
We walked through the alley, reaching the street and hopping on the sidewalk.
"Same old stuff. Aaron and the boys were ganging on me again."
I groaned.
"Those damn boys better fuck off before I break their necks."
"Yeh but I drove em' off."
I gave her a fist bump.
"I'm proud bro."
She just snickered and we reached the local convenience store where we bought loads of candies and sodas.
"I'll be in the back getting some roots, pile some candies gurl."
She waved me off as I walked back in the fridge section, opening the door and picking out some root beer bottles for us to drink later.
I could hear Stacy piling candy from the other aisle as I pondered around, checking other little tinkers around.
Stacy walked behind me and tried scaring me, but it doesn't work on me. I could hear her way too easily.
"Bah!" Stacy taunted behind me, shaking me.
"Nah you can't scare me. You know that doofus!"
Me and Stacy walked out of the aisle, sliding to the main clerk checkout and dropping the goods.
We chatted as the clerk beeped our items and handed us the bag.
Stacy grabbed the bag, and we started out the store when rain started falling.
We both ran, holding our hoods above our heads, ducking from the rain as we ran.
In time, we got to our little hideout on an abandoned building's roof, sliding open the door we put up.
Walking in, the place smelled like cookies and old books. I mean, I don't hate it or blame. There's literally piles of books me and Stacy 'borrowed' from others.
There were sci-fi novels, history books, and best of all, mystical and paranormal activities. I liked those the best, always having a twist and thrill to them. They were filled with dragons, unicorns, dark magic, goblins, and vampires.
"Hey Stace, you know when the rain'll stop?"
The rain pattered above on the metal cheek roof of our hideout. We constructed it about a year ago, when we both found each other deserted and alone in this spot.
She pulled out her phone, sliding through apps.
"An hour or so. Doesn't matter, I like it, sit down."
She patted a cushion beside her and I plopped down, searching the bag for a soda.
Grabbing the bottle, I used my C̶̢̗̪̖̭͂̓̀̑ĺ̸̢̨̪̝̒̂̈́ạ̴̡̘̜͆̀̽͆͌̔̀͐͌͜͜͝w̸͖͙͚̦̳̖̼̪̞͉̑͒͊͋͂ to open the bottle cap. It dropped on the floor, releasing a ding. Scooping it up, I put it away in my pocket. Like making pins from them.
