It seemed everyday that little Haru was growing bigger and bigger—in a good way. You enjoyed being with your son as well as Tanjiro. He'd taken to staying home more often as lessons he'd teach in to the children. Some of the kids had taken to meeting Haru and adored the tiny baby.

You had to admit, it was hard as hell taking care of a baby, but you loved him with all your heart—even if it meant waking at two in the morning to get him to stop crying.

Yui loved him like a brother. Since she was technically in both of your care now, she had been like a daughter and a big sister. She had taken to doing most of the housework since you had to take care of little Haru.

There was one issue. Since having a child of your own, more so a baby, both of your attention had been fixated on little Haru. Leaving Yui to grow somewhat envious of him.

"Daddy? How's Haru?"

"He's well Yui!"

"Can we take a ride into town?"

"Oh, sorry Yui, but I have to take care of Haru right now. He's being a little fussy today and Y/n is sleeping right now. She's had a long day."

...

"Mommy!"

"Hey Yui, what's up?"

"Can we go collect seashells?"

"Sorry Yui, not today, I can't leave Haru alone, I can't bring him out either for now. I promise we will do it some other time, okay?"

"Yeah..."

Currently, Yui was outside sitting on a bark-less log out along the shoreline. Her delicate, metallic locks flowed with a gentle breeze of the sea. The waves crashed just over her feet and reached to her ankles. A simple pastel yellow kimono sewn for her eleventh birthday by you.

She sulked on the log with a frown, gazing out into the ocean, watching little cloud-like whites falling down gracefully and into the water down below. She kicked lightly at the water that hugged her feet, as well as holding a stick in her hand and playing around with it.

She understood that taking care of a baby must be hard. Hell you'd begun to grow dark circles under your eyes sometimes, as well as Tanjiro. It seemed everyday for a while now that she had no one to talk to or enjoy her time with.

All the others were living their own lives and doing whatever. She felt alone, alone like she did back in the orphanage. She had no friends back there, it was sad. She just wanted to be able to spend more time with the both of you. She hated this envious side of her, it was wrong, but she couldn't help the emotion.
