So this morning, I received news that there was a tremor of a 6.1 magnitude in a district in my home state, Sabah, Malaysia.
Geographically, Malaysia isn't supposed to experience any of these sorts and the fact that it is, well, it's freaking the hell out of me.
Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Southeast Asia, has lost one of it's, what we call 'donkey ears' (they're two tall rocks at the peak) due to this. Nearly 200 climbers, locals and tourists, are stranded at the top, unable to get down due to the check points being completely destroyed after the tremors.
One of the most popular mountain accommodations in Sabah are at Kundasang. It's quite cold over at Kundasang, but recently one of the hostels' support poles were broken, which could lead the building to tumble down the valley and endanger more people.
My hometown in Sabah, Penampang, was also affected by the tremors.
Luckily, not many deaths have been reported (hopefully).
Please pray for this matter. I would appreciate it if any of you could explain why this is happening.
