3 years before (Yi Seo-yun's backstory)

Seo-yun was sitting on a bench, in one of the parks of the well known Gangseo District, Seoul. She was scrolling through her phone, looking at messages that popped up time to time. She came to look at a picture on Facebook. Her mother posted it. She hasn't seen her mother since she was six years old. That was when her parents got divorced. She didn't know the exact reason of the family breaking into peaces, she was only avare of her parents' fighting and screaming with eachother. Her mother went to another country and found a rich architect there. Seo-yun looked at the picture closely, three people were displayed on it. A happily smiling father, her mother and between them, an about fifteen year old girl, with a purely fake smile plastered across her face. Seo-yun's face became sour, a small grin appearing on her delicate lips.
"At least you got a loving family, I grew up without a mother and my father died a year before I graduated highschool, he was murdered." - she glared at the picture, an evil smile plastering on her face, then a happy one. Then she lost it. Lost controll over herself, tears started to roll down her pale cheeks, like fresh waterfalls. She looked like an idiot, all those droppletts coming out of her eyes, sitting there, on a bench talking to a picture she found posted on Facebook, knowing all too well, that it won't answer any of her questions. Seo-yun has been having dissociety identity disorder, ever since her father died. It has always been easy for her to switch between personalities and identities, from more seriosus to a kind and playfull one or from a sad one to a more psychic one. She even named herself multiple times, Kim Min-jee, the one who works at J.YP. and has long, painted blond hair is one of her "creations" as well as Choi Haneul, the one who works for the maffia, has fairly short, black and dark red hair, with blue eyes, although Haneul was "born" a half a year later. These weren't her natural beauty marks, all just wigs or painted hair and coloured contactlenses. At some point she didn't even know how to differenciate between her real self and her other two "copies". After joining J. Y. P. Entertainment Park PD nim helped her get two other ID cards and passports. She didn't mind it, after all, this was her, but all these things had different kinds of consequences. Sometimes, after changing her identity she was having partial memory loss, or symptoms that were associated with depression.
She got her masters degree five months ago, and she haven't found a proper, well paying job yet. By this time most youngsters were enjoying themselvs, working, using their knowledge, earning money, slowly sparing enough to buy an apartment or a house and hanging out with friends.
She lost hope, she knew that her life was just a waste of effort.

Well, that's what she thought. She decided to study criminology after the death of her father, desparately wanting to find the murderer, but only after getting her masters degree, did she realise that all she did, was a waste of effort, of years, of life. She was sad and sour, having no friends and living alone also made her state of mind worse and worse, though she kept her broken self hidden from the public. This time she failed though, but she knew that nobody would have cared anyways.
She took another glance at the picture, examining her little sister one more time. She whiped her tears, stood up and went to her afternoon shift. She worked at a cinema, in the nearby mall, as one of the popcorn sellers. She hated it, but since nobody wanted her as a detective, she somehow had to earn some money. It wasn't enough to pay the appartment and the school she went to, so she had to do multiple jobs to do her other degree as an accountant and pay for some food. She wore the same clothes she already had three or four years ago, always mending them, if they were a bit broken. She had three months until the final exam. That was her only hope. Being an accountant somewhere.

It was already half past eleven when the cinema closed. She went to the staff room at the back, changed her uniform and grabbed her cute, white bag. She stopped at the door, gently grabbing the handle and smiling at her colleagues, bidding them goodbye.
She stepped out of the mall, soon feeling hundreds of waterdropletts hitting her warm cheeks. She stood there, admiring the sight in front of her, her eyes getting lost in the endless sea of grey clouds swimming across the night sky. The wind was playing with her already drenched bangs, blowing them into her face, which didn't disturb Seo-yun in the slightest. She dug deep into her bag, finding a small, black umbrella. She let it go, while opening it, the wind guiding it back into her hand. She pulled it in front of her face, so only the bottom of her delicate plump lips could be seen.
She walked down the street, her black boots splashing the water all over her legs. She didn't mind it in fact, she loved it. The perfect melancholic feeling these night rains gave her, made her heart relax for once.
Before she could have enjoyed the moment, a man dressed formally called out to her. She wasn't used to being spoken to too much, at first she just ignored the completetly drenched person.
His name was J. Y Park, to be more exact. He had a plan in mind, he knew the girl, carrying the umbrella, but she didn't know him. It could have been called a one sided relationship. He was aware, that it is truly unpolite to talk to a stranger about sharing an umbrella, expecially when that stranger wasn't even responding to his question. So he asked the girl again.
"Why didn't you bring your own one sir? " -Seo-yun turned her head to the male.
"I...I just ran out of my office and realised it was raining. " -he tried to hide his face, lying wasn't his forte back then. This was the stupidest answer he could have ever came up with, but it seemed to work. As long as he didn't harm Seo-yun, the girl didn't mind sharing an umbrella with him. She knew that she wouldn't have asked a stranger about the matter, but for some reason she pitied the man, in her eyes he was a miserable sight, she, instead of a famous k-pop idol, a businessman and CEO, only saw a common man begging for an umbrella.
"How far do you need to go sir? I am able to share this, but not for long, and please do not expect me to go to your home with you, if that's what you wished for on the first place, then I will not help you." -Seo-yun stated, glaring at the man then slowly putting the waterproof material above his head.
"Thank you miss. " - J. Y. Park turned to the girl, his lips were formed into a huge smile, but when he saw her face, he froze. For a brief moment he forgot about the plan he made, an all too important memory flashed before his eyes.
Seo-yun resembled her mother's younger sister, green eyes, black hair, with almost the same face characteristics. The two girls' aunt was 15 years younger than Seo-yun's and (y/n)'s mother. It seems a bit surreal, but that was the truth. She joined J.Y.P. Entertainment at the age of 16, in 1999. She was a talented young artist, with exeptional vocal and dancing skills. J. Y. Park put her into a girl group, which would have debuted in 2002 alongside with the four membered boy group, called Noel.
The only thing stopping the debut of the five ( I just made this up, this "group" never existed) was the disappearance of two girls and a sudden death. The oldest member of the group, the hyung was kidnapped and the second youngest supposibly commited suicide, besides that, Kobayashi Yui, the little sister of Kobayashi Sara, Seo-yun's and (y/n)'s mother vanished without a single trace left behind. The whole case was investigated multiple times. They only found the hyung of the group, two months after her disappearance, locked up in a house. After a quick healthcheck and various days spent in the hospital she was safe and sound.
The rest of it was a mistery, all left in the shadows, covered with thick fog. All people from the Entertainment knew, that there was more behind one of the girl's planned suicide, and that Kobayashi Yui couldn't have disappeared without leaving anything or anyone behind. She left something and someone behind, both waiting to be discovered.
