Its 6am, I crawled out of bed and into the shower, after i got all the knots from my hair i dressed into a simple coral colour dress with a white belt. I pulled on some white ballet flats and pulled my hair into a high ponytail, leaving out a few straggly bits to cover my hearing aids. My hearing aids didn't do much, i could hear a gun shot but thats about it. I looked exactly like a normal teenager, i was anything but.

Deaf and mute, thats how i have been for the past 18 months.

I walked out of my apartment and down to Starbucks thats just opposite.

"Hi Emma!" Jamie, the manager signed to me.

I have known Jamie for about a year now, she is the manager of Starbucks and knows how to sign because she has a little boy who has dyslexia and sometimes, sign language is the only way he can communicate.

I smiled and waved back.

"Just the usual?" She signed

I laughed silently and smiled with an enthusiastic nod. I sat down at the far table near the window, i always sat here, i liked to watch the world go by.

I pulled out my book and began to read, i payed Jamie and walked off to the bus stop.

All the seats were taken on the bus so i decided to stand.

Someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to face him, he had bright green eyes and crazy curly hair that was pushed back and covered with a purple beanie. He was hot.

He began to say something. I froze.

I dont read lips and i cant hear him.

He looks like he's getting angry. I looked around frantically, i began to shake. I never know how to handle these situations, the people get angry because they are trying to be nice and they get frustrated because i cant reply.

The bus pulled up and i quickly walked out, i was a couple of blocks from the flower shop but i can walk.

I could feel his presence behind me, i began to walk quicker, hopefully he will just give up.

I was sitting on the bus, when an incredibly beautiful girl walked on, she looked around for a seat but the were all taken.

I walked up to her and tapped her softly on the shoulder.

"Hi there, I'm Harry, whats your name?"

She didn't reply.

"Do you wanna take a seat?" I asked her.

She looked around still not replying.

"So, ever heard of One Direction?"

She didn't reply. I began to get angry.

"Look! You could at least reply"

She didn't say anything.

"Oh! Come on! Your not even going to tell me your name?!" I yelled. She turned around and walked of the bus.

"Guys i will text you later" i said to the other boys following her.

"Mate, this is New York, don't you think some girls will recognise you?" Louis asked.

"No, well yeah but i dont care, this chick was being rude, I'm going to teach her some manners" I replied, slipping on my sunglasses and following Miss Rude off the bus.

"You could at least stop walking along and face me, I'm trying to talk to you" I growled after her. She turned into a flower shop, i followed her.

"For gods sake! Why do you have to be so rude?!" I said, grabbing her by shoulders and shaking her. My temper was getting to the better of me and i knew it, there was just nothing i could do about it.
