For Eliza, love is just a fickled feeling—it changes often when you meet someone who triggers your interests. You can't entrust your heart or yourself to someone so easily because for her, giving someone the chance to love you is the same as giving that person the privilege to hurt you.

She's a playgirl, for sure, but she only plays with people who showed her the same interest. In this way, no one would be able to break her heart if she didn't have one to give.

But how could someone look so vulnerable? So goddamn lonely? So heartbroken if his heart was already with his girlfriend in her resting place?

Was it really hard to move on? To forget her kahit ilang taon na ang lumipas?

Ilan lang 'yan sa napakaraming tanong ni Eliza sa kaniyang isipan as she watched Vince's lonely back walking away after introducing themselves to each other.

Once upon a time, she stumbled upon him in a library. He was tall and handsome, so he catched Eliza's attention. But, her friend had told her that Vince was still very much in love with his ex-girlfriend, who passed away four or so years ago.

"Ganoon na katagal? I don't believe that he hasn't moved on yet or hindi pa nakakahanap ng bago! Because he has needs, and I wouldn't believe it if you tell me now that he's been solving that himself using only his hands, you know?"

"Sira ka bang gaga ka? Pakialam ko ba sa needs niya! Ang sa akin lang, mahihirapan ka sa isang 'yan if you're gonna add him to your list of conquests!"

"Saan mo ba kasi narinig 'yang balitang 'yan?"

"Sa maraming tao, girl! They said it was his cousin who visited him ang nag confirm nito. Tapos tumango lang daw si Vince."

"Hmp. I still want to confirm it mismo sa kaniya."

Eliza's friend had rolled her eyes at her. "Go ahead at kumuha ka ng batong ipupukpok sa ulo mo."

"It's not that serious. Geez." Eliza laughed.

So, when she got the chance to ambush the main protagonist last week, hindi niya ito pinakawalan. She remembered asking him everything her friend had told her. Including his late girlfriend, even when she knew she was being insensitive.

"I'm sorry."

She remembered apologizing to him when she saw a glint of sadness passing his eyes.

"It's okay. But you wouldn't be able to understand no matter how many questions you threw at me. Unless you experience it yourself."

He had said and walked away.

Indeed. Hindi niya nga maintindihan. When her father died, ipinagpalit ito agad ng kaniyang ina kahit wala pang kalahating taon itong namayapa. She was raging mad, so she had left their house.

It was a couple of years ago that she made peace with her mom and her new family. She loves them, but she still felt empty inside. Like she wasn't sure where she belonged anymore.

"Was love really that powerful? Beautiful? That even if years passed by, you can still love the same person? And long for her, even if you know that she won't be coming back?" Tanong niya ng makasalubong niya ito kanina.

"I guess so. I still love her, and I'm still longing for her. Every time I close my eyes, I can hear her laughter, can hear her calling my name."

Habang sinasabi niya ito ay mayroon itong matamis na ngiti sa labi. Napansin ni Eliza kung gaano nagniningning ang mga mata nito habang inaalala ang memorya ng yumaong nobya.

When Vince noticed Eliza's curious gaze, he stopped smiling at pabiro itong tinaasan ng kilay.

"May tanong ka pa, Curious Girl?"
