Chapter Three: All hope is lost

Back with Hoppers gang, they were rescuing people from demo-dogs and demo-bats. Everyone was fighting them off, with the weapons they had on their person. Unlucky for Joyce, she didn't carry a weapon so she stuck by Hopper's side, to which he had his gun. They were passing The Hawk other known as the movie theater when they heard a girl screaming. They came running towards the screams of bloody murder, only to find a girl being cornered by a demo-dog. 

It was clearly trying to eat her, she had many bite marks on her legs. Finally it made its move, lunging itself at the young woman, Hopper acted quick and shot the demo-dog before it reached her. The demo-dog got launched away, when it came to its senses it ran off knowing that Hopper was going to kill it if it attacked again. The girl looked over at the couple, she had tears of Joy in her eyes.

"You saved me!" She said, as Joyce walked up to her to check her wounds.

"Come with us, we'll bring you to safety." Joyce said, taking the young girl's hand. She smiled and nodded following their orders.

They started heading to the place where they were storing the citizens, it was the public library. It was pretty hard, but they managed to take her there unharmed. They opened the window to the library and all three of them climbed in, Once they were inside she could see other people they had rescued. Erica was bandaging someones arm up from a demo-bat bite and Johnathan was boarding up more of the windows. She was amazed at all of this.

Everyone was pitching in, either helping the wounded or out there fighting for other peoples lives. Before Lucas left to save Max, he told Erica to be careful. So she figured she helped with the people who were injured, if they needed bandages or band aids, she was your girl. Meanwhile Johnathan decided to make the library more secure, they have already had a couple of demo-dogs and bats try to break in, so he wants to make sure nothing could possibly get inside at all costs. 

"One minute, I just need to bandage this guy's arm. I'll be over there in a second." Erica said, as she wrapped the bandage around tightly making the guy cringe. Joyce sat the girl down and Hopper got ready to leave again.

"Alright, This girl is going to bandage you up and you're going to stay here. Is that alright?" Joyce asked, she glanced over to hopper who was waiting for her.

"I am just so scared." She said, looking down at her cuts and bruises.

"Everything will be alright, There's no need to worry." Joyce said, calming the girl down instantly, She tapped her on the shoulder before exiting the library with Hopper by her side.

Erica came over to the girl and knelled down beside her, she brought her kit over with her and began to wrap a bandage around the bite on her leg.

"You're a pretty strong girl, being able to survive out there like you did." Erica said, making eye contact. The girl smiled.

"It wasn't easy.. I got split from my parents and the next thing I know, one of those creatures is chasing me." She said, looking down at her chair.

"Don't worry, you're in good hands now. We'll get you all bandaged up and you can go see your parents." Erica said, grabbing something out of her kit.

"Are they here?" She asked, now curious.

"I have no clue, once I am finished you can go check. There's a bunch of people here, more than likely you'll find your parents." Erica said, giving her a smile.

"The woman who saved me." The girl continued, catching Erica's attention.

"Was her name, Joyce Byers?" She asked.

"Yes, How did you know that?" Erica asked, now curious herself.

"She has a son, named Will. didn't he go missing a while ago?" She said, Erica looked up.
