Brandy

I haven't spoken to Gage since he asked me out. Whenever we were in the same room, he wouldn't look at me, just continued with his day.

Staggeredly, I knocked on his office door. I hear him speak to someone, so I didn't want to interrupt. "Come in!" Gage calls out.

Opening the door, I crept in hesitantly. "What do you want?" Gage questions harshly.

I was taken aback by his sudden change in tone. "Oh...I-I was told to you bring this-this envelope from Marcus...Mr.Dorrian."

Looking up from his desk, Gage's eyes widen at my sight. Clearing his throat, he gets up from his chair. "Brandy, I'm sorry. I didn't know it was you."

"Uh, Mr. Dorrian also asked if you could find him later. He said it's important."

Gage nods his head. Dropping the envelope on his desk, I went to leave. He doesn't seem in the mood to speak to me. "Brandy, wait." He calls out. "How have you been? It's been a while." Gage questions.

I turned around on my heels. "Oh...I've been good. What about you?"

"Fine. Great actually."

I don't think he's telling me the truth.

Gage clears his throat. "So about our last conversation, I didn't mean to make things awkward. It was kinda silly of me."

"No, it's alright. I was just taken by surprise and then I-I got busy with work."

"That's reassuring."

"I have to get going, Mr. Lockwood will be looking for me," I tell him. It's true. Denim has been keeping me by his side lately. I don't mind, it's nice to spend more time with him other than outside the office or the public.

Reaching forward, he grabs my hand. "While you are here," Gage starts. "Maybe this time I can take you out...on a date? Or as friends? We can go anywhere you want."

My mind first went to the Carnival. I've been asking Denim to go with me, but he said that he can't. Too many people would see us together. He also stated, very clearly, that Madison and him will be together that same night, conveniently, for some charity event.

"That sounds great. I would love to!" I smiled.

A smile instantly goes across Gage's face.

"No," Denim said sternly. "You aren't going to that damn Carnival."

Sitting on his lap, with both his arms wrapped around my waist, Denim kisses my neck. "We can go as friends."

Denim lets out a hysterical laugh. "I know that's bullshit. You aren't going as friends." He continues. "I would say that too if it meant I was going to get laid later that night."

I perked up. "I'm not going to sleep with him."

It would make sense for me to go to the Carnival with Gage. I haven't asked him yet, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind going with me. I don't understand why Denim is so against Gage and I going as friends. I haven't asked yet, but I knew that I would have to ask Denim first.

Denim's cold hands slip under my shirt cupping my breasts. I gasp. "Your hands on cold!" He chuckles lowly reaching to unclasp my bra in the front. "Denim." I stopped him. "You can't. We're still at work."

"No one is here. It's late." He tells me. "Take your shirt off for me," Denim whispers. "It'll be fun."

7:57 pm. It's not late. It's early enough for someone to walk by and catch the both of us.
