I looked at the raven-haired girl through her window, it was very Pretty-Little-Liars-esc but with less romantic desires. I knew she killed Avery Oaks, but there was no way in hell I was going to tell her that; this was her mess, not mine.

Fuck, Reyna thought as she woke up. After countless hours of tossing and turning, Reyna was successfully able to get roughly three hours of sleep.

She threw her legs over the side of her bed and forced her feet on the soft, furry rug. She usually liked the sensation of wiggling her toes in a fluffy rug, but she couldn't find it in her to care.

"Good morning mom," she said, yawning. The scent of pancakes wafted through the air as she walked through the hallway.

Her mom was stood in front of the stove causing the sweet aroma.

"Good morning, sleep well?"

"Oh yeah, the best."

"I'm glad, because today is a big day for you."

"Oh yeah? How so?" Reyna replied, oblivious.

"Reyna Flores! Don't tell me you forgot!"

"Well I did, so just tell me!"

"Stop acting like a brat," she replied with harsh glare, while holding out a plate of fresh pancakes and bacon to her.

"I don't want them," she said, pushing them away, "and I'm sorry."

"Rey, are you okay?"

"Yeah, just tired."

"Hey! You said you slept well."

Oops.

She swatted her mother's accusing spatula away from her, "I did! Doesn't mean I slept a lot."

"Ha, you're funny. You should be a comedian."

"Thanks for the advice but I got to go to school."

"Fine, have a good day."

"Okay, I will," Reyna responded with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Her mother rolled her eyes for the tenth time that morning, "Actually, I hope you have a horrible day."

"I would listen but you were a lot more demanding the first time, anyways, I'll see you later."

"Bye," she said, shoving her only child out the door.

Her spat with her mother allowed a breath out she wasn't aware she was holding. Everything will be fine, she thought to herself.

Immediately after stepping off her porch step and onto the cement sidewalk, she reached into her bag and pulled out her headphones. Without another thought, she allowed the music to flood all her senses.

She only lived a couple blocks from school, allowing her to walk. Reyna kept her eyes up; she was always on high alert, it was both a blessing and a curse. The minutes ticked by as she strolled past the rows and rows of houses, before she reached Clover High School.

Ding.

She heard through her headphones, she picked up her phone to see a text notification sitting underneath her beloved Billie Eilish song. Her eyes skimmed the message, all it said was hi.

Clicking on the notification, she immediately felt her heart drop. To her dismay, it was from the pretentious bitch.

What do you want??? She typed, angrily.
