Julia took a cautious look below her into the long, overgrown tunnel stretching down into the underhalls of the city. She hated the thought that she would reach the bottom and get pounced on by some creature of the forest. What had that chittering been, anyway?

"I wish I never died. I hate the thought that I might outlast this place...(sigh) I'm a fucking coward. "
And with that, she shouldered her heavy pack and placed her foot on the first rung of the long, rusted ladder.

She smelled something...it was disorienting, almost sickening...
She felt her lungs heave as she rasped a breath. It was so painful, but she could barely feel it, like she was floating through her mind, but...it was really like the world was crushing in on her.

She couldn't remember anything this exciting the entire year, but still, she felt fearful. The girl had been covered in blood. Julia always felt sick around blood, and with the amount she'd lost, Julia assumed the girl wasn't going to be traveling-strong any time soon, even after her bones healed.
Julia closed her eyes and balled her fists, "I'm not going to lose control! I can't...I couldn't live with myself. "
