I was going around helping all these students and comforting parents who showed up when Alex came over 'Hunt is looking for you.' he said 'Does he need help with a patient?' I asked 'No he said you shouldn't be here anymore.' he replied 'Tell him I'm fine.' I said 'Evan.' he said 'Alex.' I replied. 'He knows you best, listen to him please.' he said 'He's my best friend and we grew up together but he doesn't get it. Please just let me keep going before I go crazy.' I said 'He thinks you should sit out. Please.' I said then he walked away. 

A couple hours later I stopped and watched the tv in the waiting room 'Today at the Westdale high school shooting it is confirmed that fourteen students have died and seventeen are in critical condition.' the news reporter said. I walked away. I walked into an on call room. I sat down on the bed and breathed out, today was hell. After a little while of sitting there I decided I should leave, I felt beyond over whelmed. I went and collected my stuff. As I was packing my stuff back up Arizona came in 'You okay?' She asked 'Did Owen ask you to ask me?' I replied 'No, I just wanted to make sure you were okay.' she replied 'Oh ok. I just feel a bit tired.' I lied 'Okay, if you need anything Callie and I are always here.' she said 'Thank you.' I replied. 

As I was walking out a woman came up to me 'Excuse me? Are you Evangeline Wade? The writer?' she asked motioning to my book in her hand 'Yeah.' I replied 'Your book is amazing, The Brenda show would love to have you.' she said handing me a small card then walking away. 'What was that about?' Alex asked 'The Brenda Show wants me to talk about my book.' I replied 'You should do it.' he said 'Have you read my book?' I asked 'No but Robbins said it's good.' he replied 'I don't want to talk about my book, I hate that I wrote it.' I said then walked out. I went to my apartment and started to make dinner, when dinner was ready I decided to get really drunk and I called Alex 'Heyyyyy!' I slurred 'Hey. You okay?' he asked 'Come over for dinner right now. Okay? Please! My door is unlocked.' I said then put my phone on the counter. I took a couple more shots then got dressed into my pjs. I turned music on and started to dance around my living room. 

Alex walked in and put his jacket on the hook and turned my music down 'It's too loud, you have neighbors.' he said and sat down on my couch 'Neighbors shneighbors.' I said and laughed 'Are you drunk?' he asked 'Tiny tiny very tiny bit.' I said then sat next to him with my legs on his lap. He rubbed his hand up and down my legs as he talked about the babies he worked on today 'Shit I was supposed to check on the babies! Let's go check on them.' I said and went to go stand up. He pulled me back down 'No babies while you're drunk.' he said then I smiled 'You're bossy.' I said 'I'm right.' he replied 'Nooooo. I made chicken and rice.' I said then got up and made him a plate 'Thank you.' he said.

I sat back down on my couch and listened to the quiet music and closed my eyes. 'I'm gonna  head out, see you tomorrow?' Alex said waking me up 'Did I fall asleep?' I asked 'Yeah, go sleep in your bed though.' he said 'My leg hurts.' I said 'I'll help you to bed and I'll get you ice.' he said then he helped me to bed and gave me the ice pack. He tucked me in. 'Sorry I'm always drunk.' I said 'It's okay. You just have to sleep now, okay?' he replied 'Okay.' I said then I soon fell asleep.

When I woke up in the morning I was lucky because I wasn't hung over. I walked into work and went straight for the coffee 'We're all going for drinks tonight, you coming?' Meredith asked 'What time?' I asked '9:30.' she replied 'Yeah maybe.' I said. I walked to peds, Arizona looked cheerful as always 'Drinks tonight at 9:30?' she asked 'Maybe.' I replied then I walked over to Alex 'Drinks at 9:30 tonight? Didn't you have enough last night?' he joked 'Haha. Now I know why Cristina and Meredith call you Evil Spawn.' I said 'You suck.' he said and I smiled. 

We went for our rounds then we went into surgery a couple times, mostly for appendicitis, we did some tests and stuff too. I was looking at the babies again 'You have a daughter, right?' I asked Arizona as she stood next to me 'Yeah. Sophia.' she replied 'All my childhood friends got married and have kids, I feel like I'm missing out sometimes but then I realize that they are missing out. They never get to heal people or see hearts and brains and all the fun stuff.' I said 'They are 100% missing out.' she replied and we smiled. 

It was only 7pm when I finished. I was allowed to go home without being on call. I followed Alex to the supply closet because I was making fun of him while helping him grab stuff 'I get to go home and you don't. HAHA!' I said then he just looked at me 'What?' I asked then he handed me a bunch of stuff 'You suck.' he said then I smiled 'Whatever.' I replied then I brought all of the stuff to the room. 'Are you coming for drinks tonight?' I asked 'Yeah, I'm off at 8 though.' he said 'Come over?' I asked 'Yeah.' he replied then I smiled and left.
