I went to my place and showered and shaved and only put on my underwear and bra. I didn't want to put jeans over freshly showered legs because that feels gross. I started to make pasta and listened to music and danced. I was too busy dancing to notice Alex standing behind me 'Holy shit Alex you scared me.' I said with a hand on my chest, he stared at the scar on my shoulder/collarbone then down to the one on my leg 'I'm gonna change. Help yourself to the pasta on the stove.' I said then went and got dressed. 

I came back out and ate then we sat on my couch and talked. That's all we ever do. Sometimes I feel like I talk too much, other times not enough. 'How'd you get the scar on your arm?' he asked then took a swig of his beer 'Columbine.' I replied then took a sip of mine, he stared at me for a second 'I thought you graduated the year before?' he said 'I did, my younger sister was still there though.' I replied 'Is that what your book is about?' he asked then I nodded 'I'm sorry if I'm pushing it by asking all of these questions.' he said 'No it's fine, ask as many questions as you want.' I said and gave him a reassuring smile.

'What happened? How'd you get shot?' he asked 'I was picking my sister up for lunch, I don't think it was even lunch yet but it was the only time I was available, I went into the office and they told me she was in the library with her class. So I went down to the library to get her, Margaret that's my sister, and I told her to pack up so we could go out for lunch or brunch or whatever. She told me she had a weird feeling in her stomach and I brushed it off, I thought maybe it was just guilt from arguing with our mom that morning. She wanted to leave but I kept talking to her teacher who was mine the year before, then we heard the gun shots. We hid under the tables and I told her and the other students to play dead if they get shot, the shooters came through the library and we didn't get shot. I told her we had to leave because they would come back, she was so scared. I dragged her out to the hall and we were so quiet.' I said then took a sip of my beer again 'They turned the corner and saw us and they shot at us, they hit my shoulder and my thigh. My femur and clavicle shattered and I stayed on the ground pretending to be dead... I watched as she bled out then the one shooter walked over and turned her on her back and pulled her up by the collar of her shirt and he smiled then asked "Who's gonna save you?" then shot her in the head and laughed and walked away. When they left I dragged myself towards her and held her head and cried. It was her birthday the day before and we got matching tattoos.' I said.

Alex had the same look on his face that everybody else had 'I'm fine now... well I am getting the rod in my leg replaced but I'm better.' I said and gave him a reassuring smile 'Evan..' he said 'What's that from?' I asked motioning my hand to the palm of his where a little scar was 'I got cut with glass when I was younger.' he replied 'Ouch, I have one on the bottom of my foot from glass.' I said and laughed. We talked for what felt like hours. We were interrupted by Alex's phone buzzing 'Shit. Everybody is wondering where we are.' he said, I guess we were talking for hours, we went down to Joe's and sat down with everybody.

'Are they dating?' Callie asked Arizona 'I don't know.' Arizona replied, I wanted to laugh so hard but I held it back, we all drank and talked and laughed about everything. 'So Evan, tell us how you put up with Evil spawn all the time.' Cristina said and we all laughed 'He's not that bad.' I said and smiled at Alex 'Evil spawn.' I said looking at him and he smiled back 'Awee.' Arizona said softly then Owen cleared his throat 'Another round?' he asked everybody 'yeah.' we all replied.

After a little while Cristina and Owen left. Derek Shepard and I were playing Darts together while everybody else talked. 'How did you know you wanted to be a neuro surgeon?' I asked 'Oh are you wanting to switch to neuro from peds?' he asked 'No, I just like the conversation.' I replied he chuckled 'Derek we should get going.' Meredith said walking over 'I'll see you tomorrow.' he said handing me his darts then walking away. I put the darts away then walked back to everybody else. It was Just Callie, Arizona, Alex and I left. I sat down and ordered a beer 'After this I'm heading home.' I said 'I'll walk you.' Alex said 'You sure?' I asked 'Yeah, gotta make sure you get home safe.' he said and smiled at me. 'I'm gonna go play pool.' Callie said then Alex went off and played with her.

'Alex is into you. Are you into him?' Arizona said to me 'He told you that?' I asked 'No, but I can tell. He always makes sure you get home safe, he smiles at you even when you aren't looking at him and he smiles when he hears your name.' she said and I smiled 'Yeah I'm into him. I look forward to seeing him everyday.' I said and took a sip of my beer 'Make a move!' she said and smiled. I finished my beer and stood up, I paid my tab then Alex and Callie walked over. We all walked out together then said our byes, I looked back at Arizona and she was making her hands kiss. 

Alex and I walked in silence then we got to my place 'I had fun. See you tomorrow.' he said while walking away 'That's it?' I asked then he stopped walking and turned around 'You put off this vibe that you're into me, I'm into you. And if I'm getting the vibe wrong then I'm sorry and I hope we can still be friends but-' Alex was right in front of me 'Shut up.' he said then kissed me. We started to make out and then we went up to my apartment.
