Autumn(Shadow )'s P.O.V
I squeaked as Clover licked my head with her rough tongue. Matthew, my brother, smirked at my expression.
"Happy much, Autumn?" He meowed. I groaned as my mother kept licking me. Matthew was picking up human language fast. My mother can understand English, so she taught us some. Just then, Velvet bounded over. Velvet was the runt of the litter. With her shiny, black fur, she looked even smaller. Just then, the door opened. I stood up nervously. My other sister, Rose, bounded over calmly and stood next to me. Rose is the bossiest and oldest.
"Try to make a line, kittens." Clover said, trying to train us. We tried our best to, but Matthew kept messing up. He would jump and run around. Rose cuffed his ear.
"Stop goofing around!" She yelled at him.
"Staph gohffing arounh!" Matthew mocked Rose as he ran around, Rose pursuing her. Suddenly, Rose pounced on Matthew. Matthew shrieked and Rose began beating his paws against his face. OMG, Rose is slapping Matthew! "Get him, get him!" cheered Velvet repeatedly, her emerald eyes shining. I rolled my eyes and Clover face-palmed. More like face-pawed though. Just then the door opened. I sniffed the air, waiting for the familiar sweet scent that my caretakers(humans) carried. But instead, what hit my nose was a sharp, dangerous scent. It smelled more like a threat. Clover must have smelled it too because she quickly picked up Velvet. Her tail beckoned us to follow. We hid underneath the table. Our father, Pine joined us too. Just then, I heard barking. Clover gasped, and Pine bristled. Velvet scooted close to Rose. I peeked from underneath the table, and saw that the human's face was right in front of mine.
