I remember... so clearly. That night. Gun shots. The clang of steel and swords. Then... screams. Pain. Anguish. Pleading cries for help, for justice. But none came. Cruel laughter echoed around. As bodies thudded on the floor, I cried silently. I was hid under a desk because mama and papa stuffed me there. I remember the slightly blue metallic colored sword covered with blood. It was only a few days ago before this happened and I remembered... I had admired the designs carved on it, and the sharp edge. I saw him, him! The one my parents trusted with their own soul! For years... he had been out friend. But for years... he had feigned it. He striked down my parents by himself. I remembered the look on my dad's face, laced with horror, dread and anger all mixed in one. Before he died and hit the ground, he made eye contact with me. He mouthed the words I'm so sorry. I love you , so much. Then, he was gone. My mom had ran upstairs on my dad's command. I heard her scared screams, and her pleading with him. Please don't kill our little daughter! She has so much to live for! I never saw my parents again. My brother died a few days later. I cried my heart out. Oh I remember... oh so clearly. Blood all over the floor, and bodies littered everywhere. But where was mama and papa's body? But now, I stand over the leader of the murderers, with a sword. Panting. Breathing heavily. Holding the very same sword that slayed my mother and father. I hunted down the rest of the murderers, each killing them without mercy. I enjoyed it. After 10 years of training, 2 years of waiting and 8 years of trying to find them, I did it. Bingo. My hard work payed off.
"Willow. Please don't do this." His voice was soft as he said my nickname. Willow. His voice was tender, like he used to speak to me when I was younger.
"No," I cried, fighting down tears as memories washed past my mind. "You killed my parents! For some dirty money!"
" I was trying to save my friend." He said. His eyes looked pained, and he looked sad.I gritted my teeth, trying to determine whether he was lying or not. Moonlight streamed from the top of the building, illuminating the blade. As I tensed, I saw the flash of fear and uncertainty. And nervousness. Signs of lies.
"You lied!" I screamed. I began to prepare to bring down the blade. As I swung down the sword, he screamed. I closed my eyes as the scream was abruptly stopped. The sword dropped from my hand, creating a big clang. I sank to the ground, to exhausted to move. Tears streamed down. My work here, was done.
