Chapter Forty
Sara's POV
I woke up, the smell of Damon's cologne and the feeling of warmth surrounding me. I opened my eyes, only to be met by a naked chest and muscular arm wrapped around me. I was still in all my clothes from last night, but Damon was shirtless and only wearing boxers. Okay then.
"Damon," I whisper, poking his chest. He only stirs, pulling me even closer to him and burying his head in my hair. I giggle, trying to push him away, but he doesn't budge. "Damon, wake up, I have to pee."
He groans and his arm releases me, but he just turns over, pulling the covers over his face. I shake my head and roll my eyes before going into the bathroom. I go ahead and brush my teeth before I walk back out of the bathroom.
"Damon," I trail off as I sit on top of his sleeping figure. I straddle my legs and pulls the covers from his face, making him growl and reach for the covers. "Nope! Get up!"
"Why?" He whines, mouth barely moving. I get off of him and take off all the covers, leaving him to the cold air of the room. Damon turns over onto his stomach and puts the pillow over his head.
"If you don't get up, I will never kiss you again," I tease, but he just sits still, obviously not taking me seriously. "I guess those teenagers at town lake were single. They were all guys right? From what I can see, some of them were actually pretty attractive."
Damon peeks his head out from under the pillow, squinting a glare at me. I shrug and get up from the bed, but he grabs my wrist, pulling me on top of him in the bed. I squeak in surprise but his lips cover mine, stopping all noise that tried to escape from my mouth. He held me to him, hand tangling itself in my hair. I kissed back, slightly surprised by the passion Damon demonstrated in the kiss. He deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue across my bottom lip and into my mouth. Damon led and before I knew it, I was under him, hands tangled in his hair as we kissed.
After what felt like an amazing eternity, I pulled away for air, welcoming the warmth as Damon rested his head between my neck and shoulder.
"You're my girl, Sara," Damon says into my ear, his hot breath hitting my neck. "And I don't plan on letting you go. Ever."
I smile to myself, kissing his cheek. "I love you, Damon."
"I love you, too," He smiles at me, pecking my lips. Damon reluctantly rolls to the side so that I can get off of the bed, but I just smirk at him and kiss him again. We could've made out like that for hours on, and it sure felt that way until both of our stomachs growled.
"Could you make me one of those amazing omelets again?" I ask I rest my forehead on Damon's. He just smiles and nods, pulling away from me to get off of the bed before he leaves the room to go to the kitchen. I get up again and walk to the bathroom, ridding the makeup from my face that I and been wearing since last night before changing into a pair of sweats and a t-shirt.
I made a bee-line for the kitchen when I smelt the bacon for my omelet cooking, wrapping my arms around Damon's naked torso and kissing his bare shoulder.
"You're really hungry, huh?" Damon chuckled.
"Yep," I giggle, giving him one last squeeze before I pull myself away and push myself up to sit on the counter behind him. "Is it going to be ready soon?"
Damon nods, turning down the heat and putting a lid over the pan before turning to me. He pushes himself to stand in between my legs and rests his hands by my hips on the counter, before he's kissing me again. There must have been some love bug going around. It seriously felt like we couldn't keep our hands- or in this case, lips- off of each other. I carded his dirty blonde hair through my fingers as I kissed him back, loving the feeling of him being so close to me.
I pulled away, making him groan. I point behind him at my cooking breakfast, causing him to roll his eyes with a small smile. Damon turns off the stove and places my omelet onto a plate, grabbing a fork and handing it to me. Of course, I dig in, watching him watch me as he drinks his coffee.

The rest of the day, we managed to keep the kisses to a minimum. We watched another movie or two, then swam for a bit, and ate lunch and dinner.
Now it was time for bed. It had to be an early night too, because we had a flight in the morning. We decided that as long as we kept our lips to ourselves, sleeping the last night in the same bed would be just fine.
The next morning, we woke up early enough to pack up our things. The flight wasn't until 11:30, and the airport wasn't too much of a drive. We left at 9:30 for the airport, bidding Austin farewell. After getting breakfast, our tickets, and going through security, it was about time to board the plane for Chicago again. Damon managed to settle me a bit before take off, and like he had said before, this flight was much better than the last.
"Home, sweet home," I smile up at Damon as we grab our bags from baggage claim. We go back to the parking garage where Damon's car was still parked before we were driving back to my house.
As he pulled up, I turned to him, squeezing his hand that was intertwine with mine. "That was the best time I've had. Ever."
Damon smiles back, leaning over to kiss me briefly. "I'm glad that I was a part of it. I'll see you Monday morning."
"Alright," I breath. "I love you."
"I love you more, Sara," he kisses my nose. I smile and roll my eyes before going to the back to get my bag. I wave as Damon drives off before heading up to my house, unlocking the door. I felt at home once again, and I couldn't help but cherish the unique fragrance my house had as I walked in.
I decided to call Joshua since they had been taking care of Madeline this whole week while we were gone.
"Hey, Sara!" Tammy's cheery voice answered the phone. "How was the trip?"
I laugh lightly, shaking my head. "It was amazing, Tam. How has Maddie been?"
"She's been even better," I heard Tammy's smile. "I think she's really warmed up to us over the past several days. Do you think we can just bring her home tomorrow?"
I bite my lip before nodding to myself. "Yeah that'd be fine. I'm glad you guys have been bonding."
"Me too. Well thank you for letting us keep her. We'll see you tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow," I nod, realizing she can't see me through the phone. "Bye, Tammy."
"Bye!" She chirps before the line goes dead.
I shake my head with a small smile before I walk to my room and start unpacking. After separating my clothing, I started doing laundry, cleaning up around the house before finally taking a rest on the couch with a sigh.
After watching some tv, I showered and slipped into bed, feeling exhausted from chores. I fell asleep in no time, dreaming about my ever-growing love for Damon Monroe.
