Walking on that moonlit street, Liv's path intersected with destiny once more. Just as she was lost in the depths of her own musings, she collided with someone, sending her stumbling backwards in surprise.

Her heart raced as she looked up, her gaze meeting a pair of hazel eyes that ignited a familiar spark within her. It was Jack, the boy who had shattered her heart and left her in the depths of despair. The boy is now a man now, a fine man. Time seemed to stand still as their gazes locked, memories and emotions surging forth like a tidal wave.

Neither of them spoke for a moment, their silence pregnant with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. And then, as if awakening from a trance, Jack reached out to touch Liv's face, his fingers trembling with regret.

Don't touch me, she said very quietly it whistled like the wind but it hit like a bullet. He should have told her, confided in her, maybe they would have been happy, maybe it wasn't even meant to be, but his heart is singing songs of forever, their drums are pushing beyond his constraint.

"I never wanted to hurt you," he whispered, his voice laced with remorse. "Please forgive me."

Liv's laughter erupted, a bitter sound that echoed through the night. The moonlight bathed her tear-streaked face, casting an ethereal glow upon her delicate features. Her eyes blazed with a mixture of fury and heartache, mirroring the tempestuous storm brewing within her."Forgive you?" she scoffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "For what exactly? For leaving me? For breaking my heart into a thousand shattered fragments? For abandoning me when I needed you the most? Tell me, Jack, what exactly should I forgive you for?"Jack's gaze faltered, his hands trembling as he struggled to find the right words. His heart ached with remorse, regret consuming his very being. He took a hesitant step toward her, desperate to bridge the chasm that had grown between them.

"Liv, please," he implored, his voice filled with a raw vulnerability. "I know I made a grave mistake. The torment I endured, the whispers of that malevolent witch, clouded my judgment. But please, let me explain. Let me tell you the truth."Liv's anger still raged within her, but beneath the anger lay a sliver of curiosity. Despite the pain he had caused, a part of her yearned to understand his reasons, to uncover the truth that had driven him away.

Reluctantly, she sank onto a nearby bench, her body weary from the emotional turmoil. Jack joined her, their eyes locked in a silent battle of emotions.

He took a deep breath, his words spilling forth with a mix of urgency and remorse. "Liv, you have to understand. I was haunted by nightmares, tormented day and night. The witch, Elphabae, played on my deepest fears, manipulating my mind with her seductive lies. She claimed that our love was causing you harm, that you were withering away because of me. I was terrified, Liv. Terrified of losing you."

Liv's breath caught in her throat as she listened, the anger giving way to a flicker of empathy. Could it be true? Could his departure have been driven by fear and a twisted sense of protection?"And so," Jack continued, his voice tinged with regret, "I made the agonizing decision to distance myself from you. I believed that if I left, the witch's curse would be broken, that you would heal. I thought it was the only way to save you, to protect you from the darkness that haunted my dreams."

Tears welled in Liv's eyes once more, her heart torn between anger and understanding. She had felt the pain of his absence, the emptiness that consumed her soul. But now, faced with his confession, a flicker of forgiveness stirred within her."But Jack," she whispered, her voice trembling, "you should have trusted me. We could have faced those nightmares together and fought against the darkness. Love is supposed to conquer all, isn't it?"

His gaze met hers, filled with regret and longing. "I know that now, Liv," he said, his voice filled with raw honesty. "I was a fool to believe in the witch's lies, to doubt the strength of our love. I can't change the past, but I can promise you this—I will spend every day of my life making it up to you, proving that our love is worth fighting for."

Liv stood, her resolve firm but her heart still fragile. "I need time, Jack," she said, her voice a whisper carried on the night breeze. "Time to heal, time to process everything. But know this—I haven't given up on us completely. Maybe, just maybe, there is a glimmer of hope for our shattered hearts."

Their eyes met one final time, a mixture of sorrow and longing passing between them.

A flicker of hope ignited within Liv's heart, conflicting with the wounds that still bled fresh. Her mind waged a battle between forgiveness and self-preservation, torn between the desire to rekindle what was lost and the fear of being hurt once more.

But before they could delve deeper into their emotions, tragedy struck. As Liv stood there, her emotions in turmoil, a speeding car careened toward her with reckless abandon. Time seemed to slow as her mortal life hung in the balance.

In that split second, a lifetime of regrets flashed before her eyes. The pain of lost love and shattered dreams merged with the hope that had dared to rekindle within her. And then, everything went black.
