Shadamy Week 2023 - Day 3 - Tarot

please note that I am not into the art of Tarot, so I am not very knowledgeable in this sorta stuff. I did so some research for this though, but it's pretty confusing honestly. i hope my lack of knowledge doesn't upset you

Here I was, back at Neverlake. The place where I met my hero, Sonic the Hedgehog. (And also gotten kidnapped by Metal Sonic...) 

Since today was the day of my 'anniversary', where life took a turn due to my trusty deck of Tarot cards, I decided to try another reading here. Just for fun.

I took a breath and thought about what the future might hold in store. Who would I meet? What would happen?

My mind flitted back to the one thing I wished for the most.

Love.

Not familial love, or even friendship; I had plenty of that.

No, what I wanted was romance. A deep relationship with that perfect someone. I wanted the struggles, the ups and downs, the excitement, the affection, the intimacy... I wanted all of it. At some point, at the very least.

I wanted it with Sonic for so long. But I don't think he wants that. At least, not with me. 

The most I'd get from him would be friendship. Yes, a close one at that, but I wouldn't get that type of love out of him.

Over the years, I noticed my own feelings toward him become more platonic as well. I wasn't interested in him in that way anymore. And perhaps that was for the best.

I thought about that love I wished for, and drew a card.

I drew the Chao's Fruit. 

My breath caught in my throat. This was the same card I had pulled so many years ago! The one that led to my encounter with Sonic.

I stared at the card, not paying attention to the sound of someone approaching.

"Ah, I wasn't expecting to see you here, Rose." I turned around to see the person the voice came from. Even though I only knew one person that called me 'Rose'.

I couldn't breathe again.

There he was, in all his elegance.

Shadow.

Idk what card she actually pulled in canon, but i'm going off of idw issue 46 for the card's reference, and seeing as they're both opposites, i think the card fit the most out of the ones featured in #46.
