I got in to the new attire for the day as I climbed down the stairs and before the door to the dinning pavilion. I took a.deep breath before I stepped in.
"Good morning, Arthur."
"Keresley what is it with you?"
"I though my presence for today's breakfast was important." A lady poured me a glass of milk.
Lydia, Arthur wife was about to speak when he interjected her. "Sade's are putting the pressure about their daughters marriage." He told me as if we hadn't discussed it before, almost a million times.
Anger flowed in as I tried to hold the tears in my eyes. I was tired of telling him that I did not wanted to marry her.
"How can you even chose to speak when I rejected the props Al a long time ago." I couldn't bring myself to look at him. Because I knew if I made the eye contact I'd let the tears roll down.
"The truth that she is the only female friend I have doesn't state that we should get married."
The royal couple looked at me like I was seconds away from busting open. But I did not. I was good at running away. The only thing I had done since my parents death.
I dragged the chair back and like a rotten kid I left, loosing the appetite. I paced down the hallways careful to not look fragile. What did I ever do to deserve this.
I had only wished a happy life where I could have my parents around.
Adjusting the saddle on top of my horse I mounted the tamed animal abd rod it out of the fences. I needed to talk to Cora, ministers daughter whose propsal awaited my answer.
But would she want this? Would she understand?
Because she had wanted to marry me. Their house was the biggest in the city. I was let in considering I was there prince. I told them I didn't need assistance so they let me off by my self.
I walked through the corridor that headed towards her room but stooped before the ministers study.
"We can't, the king asked my daughters hand in marriage. As long as they show loyalty we will too. We can't rebel them."
"But if me make good with snakes we can get the throne. We won't have to follow orders." The other man said in a hushed voice.
"I can not state the reply now, Arthur asked for a day or two. If the propsal is rejected we will surely ally with the cursed Kingdom. I only need to think netter for my daughter she is the only one I have besides my wife."
This was not good. If Sade's tired against us we would loose armies. I felt the movement so I rushed my steps back before I moved forward again. The other man with the minister peaked out and his expression turned suspicion.
I smiled. Not gigging away the fact that I overheard them talk.
"Fadrik." I averted my gaze to the war minister. And he slightly nodded his head.
"My prince."
"I would like a word." I continued.
"About..?"
"The marriage proposal."
His face lit up with a smile as he asked me in to his study. The other man I did not recognize from the court. I wondered who he was.
"You would have asked for my presence. "
"I... I was just passing by so I thought I could deliver the answer in person." I lied.
"I wish to take your daughters hand as my life partner." He chuckled.
"Well said my prince." He handed me the glass.
"I must take my leave then. I put it back on the glass table.
Once I left their house on my horse I could not belive I accepted the proposal. The marriage that meant nothing to me.
