tsukishima was never really an affectionate person. he's usually by himself and any time you spot him he'll be in the library or on his way home. well, until yamaguchi showed up in his life. him and yamaguchi are examples of the yin and yang symbol, despite being the opposite of each other, they balance each other. yamaguchi's light and warmth fills the empty heart of tsukishima's, keeping him company and being the one who always has his back. tsukishima's cold and sarcastic behavior protects yamaguchi from any uncomfortable situation, preventing him from receiving any harm.

"tsukki! let's go watch the cherry blossom tomorrow!" yamaguchi suggested. it was a typical practice day, the team had just finished their practice and daichi was about to lock up the gym.
"and why would you want to do that? it's just the petals falling from trees, besides, the park would be filled with couples or people." as usual, tsukishima replied bluntly.
"oh c'mon, tsukishima. go accompany your boyfriend for a day would you? it's even a Saturday tomorrow!" hinata joined in their conversation, crossing him arms.

"didn't your mother teach you that it's considered rude to eavesdrop and cut in someone's conversation?"
"WHY YOU LITTLE-" hinata pounced onto tsukishima, but was immediately yanked back by sugawara.
"he's right hinata, it is considered rude. but at least word that nicely tsukishima!"
"whatever, im leaving. lets go yams." tsukishima packed his things and walked out the gym, yamaguchi hurrying behind him

on the way home, yamaguchi couldn't utter a word, he's unsure if tsukishima's in the mood for talking and was worried that he'll get scolded if he accidentally annoyed him.
"yams, you wanna go tomorrow right?" tsukishima asked, pulling down his headphones, earning a nod from yamaguchi. tsukishima then ruffled yamaguchi's hair.
"i'll pick you up at 10 tomorrow, don't make me wait."

Yamaguchi

omg. im not hearing things am i? he said yes? 10 a.m.?? omg?? me and tsukki??? am i dreaming??????

i snapped out of my head, realizing i had already prepared to go to bed. im so shocked, tsukki said yes?? i kinda feel bad tho, he's not a big fan of loud crowds. should i cancel?? that would just be rude. oh no, im panicking again.

i was lost in my thoughts until i received a notif from my phone, it was tsukki? ehh? i thought he'd be asleep already, why is he awake?

'don't stay up too late, get some sleep. goodnight, i love you.'

oh man, i really am in love.

Tsukishima

i said it. i said i love you. this must be what they call the 'butterflies fluttering inside your stomach'. im not usually a big fan of huge crowds, maybe we'll find somewhere quiet to watch.

but for now, i'll just go to bed. hopefully i'll dream about him again.

tsukishima arrived in front of yamaguchi's door on time, ringing his doorbell. he packed small snacks in case yamaguchi gets hungry, his camera for memories and his earphones. he was then greeted by yamaguchi who packed fish food, a mini fan and two caps in case it gets too sunny.

"you look great, as always." tsukishima smiled softly, holding his hand.
"aww tsukki, you look amazing as always too" yamaguchi smiled back, leading tsukishima to the park. their journey to the park didn't take long, but by the time they reached the park it was already 11.
"sorry for getting distracted on the way, tsukki. the cat i see everyday had kittens and i just couldn't resist!"
"don't worry, i understand."

they found themselves a spot beside the river, sitting under the cherry blossom tree. yamaguchi peeked at the crystal clear river, surprised to find kois swimming upwards, practically begging him for some food. yamaguchi smiled in awe, taking out the fish food he had packed and sprinkled it onto the water. tsukishima was attracted to the sound of yamaguchi's laughter, turning around to see his green haired boy's adorable smile. without thinking, tsukishima snapped a photo of yamaguchi with his camera.

the shudder of the camera surprised yamaguchi, causing him to accidentally dropping a large amount of fish food into the water, the kois splashing around, fighting for the food. not for long, yamaguchi's clothes were drenched in water.
"pfft."
"not funny! im soaked!"
"sorry baby, did i surprise you? maybe i should've used my phone" the photo printed out from his camera, a smily yamaguchi appeared on the picture.
"is that really how i look like? man, the freckles ruined the photo" he sighed, moving to sit under the sun so his clothes dry faster.
"you're adorable with your freckles, yams. don't say that about yourself" tsukishima stared at the picture he took, completely mezmerized.

yamaguchi didn't mind, he was just glad that tsukishima thought he was adorable, wait. nevermind, it hit him. yamaguchi froze, turning feverish red.
"you really mean it tsukki?" he asked, earning a nod from the other who was still organizing his pictures. tsukishima got up and offered his hand.
"wanna walk around?"

"tsukishima kei!! delete that photo now!!" yamaguchi yelled, chasing after the blonde boy.
"lol no, im gonna print it out and frame it"
"don't you dare!!"

yamaguchi tackled tsukishima onto the grass, both of them rolling into god knows where. tsukishima held onto the picture tightly, preventing it from crumpling from the rolling. the two boys ended up finding a secret area at the park, where there's no one else but them. yamaguchi looked around, surprised to see how quiet and peaceful this area was.
"was there ever a secret area like this in the park?" he asked, sitting down on the grass.
"never realized it, the bushes must've blocked this area from the main area." tsukishima looked around, seems like this secret area is pretty spacious for them. he placed the picture of yamaguchi into his bag, sitting next to yamaguchi.

even tho there weren't much trees compared to the main area of the park, the two boys didn't mind. they were just happy with each other's presence. the gentle breeze of the wind, pink petals from the cherry blossom trees floating in the air, letting the wind lead them to where they'll go, it was already perfect for them. as yamaguchi stared at this kois, he didn't realize that there were petals on his hair. it was as if he was the grass and the petals landed on him, it was pretty cute for tsukishima.

another shudder from the camera, causing yamaguchi to flinch. the boy blushed, not used to being taken pictures of.

"tsukkiii!! at least give me a headsup!" he looks away embarrassed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"sorry, you were just so pretty i didn't think twice" tsukishima brushed the petals off his lover's hair, cupping his cheek. yamaguchi's cheek flushed darker, his heartbeat pounding.

"You're so breathtaking" Tsukishima mumbled, pulling him close by his waist, connecting their lips passionately. Yamaguchi didn't hesitate to return back the kiss, his arms wrapped around tsukishima's neck by instinct. As the two pulled away, tsukishima smiled.

"No matter what angle im looking from, you'll always be the prettiest boy in my eyes."
