Moonlight

In Shijima's paintings, the moon was always quite beautiful, and the stars were never blocked by light pollution. They were bright, and beautiful. Unbeknownst to Nene and Kou, Hanako would visit one of the fake worlds often, even if just to gaze at the moon and stars.

Of course, not for too long, else he would feel he could go anywhere. He couldn't go anywhere, since he had already made up his mind that he was staying right where he was.

Hanako lay under the bright moonlight, basking in the feeling of joy. He always missed this whenever he wasn't here. But he did have Nene, who was like the sun in his presence. What with the way her attitude was carefree, and everything about her seemed almost soft. She was kind, but strong-willed and dedicated. And she was still positive even though she was aware of how little time she had left in the near shore.

Hanako loved that about her. Actually, Hanako could almost say that Nene was like the moon herself. She was bright, and illuminated his darkness. She was soft, and tender some days, and others, she was cold and harsh.

That night, Hanako left Shijima's painting loving the moon a little more than when he had came.
