Every time I come here, I play the role of their 'ideal', right? Like some shared fantasy. Does Kinjo even give himself time to think about these trivial things? He only focuses on his utopian goal of a world without crime based on his philosophy. But why is the atmosphere so tense?
"You have no escape anymore. I finally caught you after so many years, Yuki Maeda."
The tonality of Kinjo's voice left me cold, far from what was expected in a romantic atmosphere. "What are you talking about, Kinjo?"
"Pretending to have amnesia is useless. You put all the national police on red alert. You caused headaches for many, but never expect to have this encounter in private."
Am I a criminal of such magnitude?! What is this?!
"Kinjo, please calm down. We can talk things over without resorting to violence. I will surrender peacefully."
"I don't plan to use violent methods unless you force me. I only plan to arrest you once and for all, criminal."
"At least I can demand what charges are being brought against me. I am sure it is one of my rights as a defendant under Japanese law."
Kinjo sighs, annoyed. "You're a drag even if you're right. I only wait for your surrender without any surprise planned to gain time. It is simple: Escape from a federal prison when you were in the process of trial for the theft of a millionaire businessman worth half a million euros to give resources to a poor village."
"I see..." This already sounds too surreal.
"Damn it, I thought I knew you during our time at Hope's peak. I still don't understand why you did something so low. As much as that fat Togami millionaire is a piece of shit, committing a crime is unforgivable in our society."
"You are right, and I don't use it as an excuse for what I did. But these kinds of actions don't sound so bad to me. I doubt the Togami family will suffer from the robbery, and the money will do more good to more people."
"Yuki, I share that such a person will not feel such a blow to his finances, nor is it to my liking because of his business record and how I buy his freedom. It is wrong in the eyes of justice. That's what the law is for: to prevent us from being wild animals. And I'm sick of rotten people trampling our law and trust. You know better than anyone, Yuki.
Knowing Kinjo, I see that it hurts him there use this information. "I'm sorry, Kinjo. Handcuff me and take me to court, so you will have peace of mind at least."
"I appreciate your cooperation, Yuki, always. After Sasaki's death, I locked my emotions deep inside as my father advised me at the funeral. After all, his experience told him that those raw emotions sent Sasaki straight to the bomb. To convey my deepest emotions to people is useless for someone like me. A policeman should only be blindly faithful to justice without hesitation. After this, no more."
Something in his words caused me to react as if I was fed up. Even so, I realized very late that I had punched Kinjo very hard on the left cheek, "Kinjo!"
Kinjo was stunned for a few seconds but returned the attack with the same insanity "Yuki!"
He manages to reduce me on the bed with ease. Kinjo's abilities are extraordinary. He put his weight on my back, and my dominant arm was in a lever motion.
"I already told you. I will respond to violence with violence if I need."
"I'm sorry for the punch, but it's the only way for someone as stubborn as you."
"What do you mean?"
"I betray your trust to perform an action against the law, and I'm so sorry. But listen to me. It will never justify closing your heart to others. If I fail you, it doesn't mean there will not be another person in the future who better embraces your trust."
"I'm not interested in it anymore! Only you can have that degree of confidence!"
Kinjo showed a mixture of emotions: pain, sadness, and anger.
"I never realized when Yuki Maeda broke through my defenses. Your silly smile and cheap optimism enabled me to relate little by little. Yuki, you were the person who pulled me out of the well of my thoughts after that incident with my partner, and I just want you to be you."
"Kinjo..."
"Shit, shit, shit..." he repeatedly whispers, "Why do I doubt my philosophy? You're an idiot criminal with a simple worldview, but I still want to trust you regardless, even with all the trouble you caused."
"I will pay as the law says, but being in jail doesn't mean ending our friendship. It will be sporadic to have such a relationship, and—"
Kinjo interrupted me by turning me over and kissing me on the lips. He applied a lot of force that I didn't know how to respond to this, then grabbed my shirt collar and threw me out of bed.
"Get out..." Kinjo kept looking straight ahead. "I'll tell the headquarters you escaped with a trick. Take advantage and leave me alone."
"Are you sure? You'll have trouble lying."
"Playing with my true feelings sounds like a trick in my book. I will only continue with this dynamic because you are Yuki Maeda. Now get out! "
I know Kinjo must be very conflicted with his emotions against his ideology. However, I still need to fully understand this fantasy. As much as he is irritated by receiving a hug from me, for sure, Kinjo's heart is screaming, desperate for this show of affection. It is not difficult for me to see your emotions. I will help you work on showing them.
