"Woah woah woah Y/n!" Midas quickly caught you in his arms so you wouldn't fall to the floor, looking a bit surprised. A little smirk showed on his lip as he looked down at you. "Did I rearrange your guts too much last night?"

"Christ, Midas" you laughed. "Just let go of me, I can walk" Midas didn't let go of you, instead he adjusted his grip on you, so he was carrying you. You were wearing matching sweatpants and hoodies, it was quite cute.

"Midas put me down!" you exclaimed and tried to get out of his arms, but to no use as he just carried you down the halls, with old paintings of royal-looking people looking down at you as you got carried to the kitchen. Midas put you down on the kitchen counter, when Missy entered, carrying a basket on her arm.

"Good morning, Midas, how did you sleep?" she asked in her caring and motherly fashion.

"Good morning, I slept fantastic, it's lovely being back here" Midas smiled to her, and in return, she walked over and put a hand on his cheek.

"It's good to have you back" she smiled, clearly very fond of the young man in front of her. "Oh and the town has heard of your return, and at the market earlier they were very eager to tell me, that they appreciate everything you've done for them, and would like you to visit soon" Missy put the basket down on an old kitchen island and started to take various stuff out of the basket.

"Sure, I'll tell Elizabeth to set something up" Midas replied. He made you breakfast, and Missy sat and talked with you as you ate and drank tea.

"Missy, who are all the people on those paintings out in the main hall?" you asked and sipped some tea.

"Those are the all the previous owners of the house ever since its construction, that lasted from 1669 to 1677" Missy said with a warm smile.

"Wow. When Midas carried me down here, I noticed a large painting of a woman who I feel I've seen before, I'm not quite sure where I've seen her though..." you said. Missy and Midas got eye contact, and Missy took a deep breath and looked down at the table before looking back up at you.

"Follow me" Missy said and got up, walking with you and Midas to the hall. You stopped at the painting you were talking about and noticed how Midas had gotten a bit quieter.

"This is Miss Amelia, the late mother of Midas and Marigold" Missy said and looked up at the beautiful woman. Amelia looked like royalty; she wore a stunning dress, and even if it was just a painting, you could almost feel how powerful and influential she'd been. Her neck and wrists were draped in golden jewellery, and her long, dark hair suited her so well. She looked like a goddess.

"She's beautiful" you said, completely lost in the painting. "You look a lot like her, Midas, you have the same eyes and the same facial structure" you said and looked at him. He looked melancholic, he looked like he didn't want to be reminded of his mother or her history.

"Mhm" was all he could mutter as he looked up at his mother.

"How... how did she become the owner of this estate? Midas do you have blue blood?" you asked.

"Oh no, I don't" he said with a little smile, finding your question slightly amusing. "I believe Missy knows the story a bit better than I do" he looked at Missy, and just from the look on her face, you could see how much she cared for Midas. How she knew this was a sensitive topic, and how much affection she had for him. She looked at him the way a grandmother would look at her grandchild.

"Miss Amelia was born to a normal working family and was very good in school. So good that she was allowed to study at Oxford University, where she got to mingle and socialize with the elite and upper class of the country, formerly called "the ton". During a gala dinner at Oxford, she met the son of the owner of this house, who fell for her the moment he first laid eyes on her. He supposedly described her as being as beautiful as a goddess, and she fell for his sweet words. They had a whirlwind romance, and just a few months after they'd met, they got married when she was just 21 years old" Missy explained in a very storytelling voice. While she had explained Midas had gone over and put an arm around you, keeping you close to him.
