A New Classmate

One beautiful spring day when all of the class has sat down teacher walked to the classroom with huge news. She said "Alright class! Settle down!" Everyone was sitting in complete silence. She continued with her speech. "We will welcome a new student here! Keep in mind, she is from Bulgaria and doesn't speak our language so well!" I heard chatter in the front of the class. The chatter then spread all the way to the back. Teacher continues. "Alright, give a warm welcome to Alina!". Alina has came to the classroom along with her parents. Alina started speaking with a Bulgarian accent. "Hello, I am Alina and I am really excited to be your new classmate." She was looking kind of sad, her head was down and I didn't see a bit of smile on her face. Teacher helped Alina to sit into her new chair. The teacher then went to the corridor to speak with Alina's parents. In the class, there was a total silence and all eyes were on Alina. Everyone said she looks really pretty and the guys wanted her Instagram right away. Meanwhile, the teacher came back and started the lesson...

(In my mind) Oh wow, she's stunning!

*Fast forward, the lesson ends*

I walked up to Alina saying. "Hi there! How you're doing?". She answered with "Hey, I'm fine". And put her head down again. She was dressed in all black so we thought she is emo. But she wasn't! After that conversation I left her table. Few minutes after I left the whole class walked up to her and started asking questions. So I came back to stare and listen. But then, the bell rang. It was P.E.

We went out of the classroom to get ready for the lesson. We dressed up and went to the gym with the teacher. After we arrived to the gym me and my friends sat there, watching other kids play. I walked up to Alina again saying "It's boring isn't it?". She answered "Yeah, Btw, what is your name"? My name? I asked. Alina says, Yep! Oh, my name is Alexandra but call me Alex. "Sounds great, Alex." Alina said. And the conversation suddenly ended. Few minutes after akward silence between us pass by. The teacher walks up to us and says. "Alina, Alex, we need you two to run around the gym so we can write it onto the board." Alina and I agreed. We were standing at the start of the start line waiting for the teacher to shout "Start!". I was talking about how this lesson is boring af. And suddenly we hear "Start!", so we run as fast as we can. Alina was faster. We were both out of breath and I decided to leave her alone for the rest of the day.

*Fast forward*

Were sitting at the lunch table with my friends when my friend Jane shouts "Alina! Come here, sit with us." We chatted in English but she didn't seem to understand much of what we were saying. She was really shy and scared to speak English. We all finished our lunch, said our goodbyes and went home.
