Chapter 2 (Protecting and a new era)

 

It is the next day and Y/n and Takemichi are in class, bored out of their minds. 'I just wanna go home' Y/n whined in his own head.

"Oi, you can't just barge into a school however you like" a person yelled in the hallway. "What the heck is going on out there" Y/n whispered to no one in particular. Suddenly the door opens revealing Mikey and behind him stood Kenchin. "Oh, there they are. Let's go play Takemichy, Y/nchin". Mikey laughed walking into class. Takemichi was freaking out while Y/n was happy to be able to leave the class. "Come Takemichi I'll be fun," Y/n told Takemichi, Y/n was a bit scared to go alone with the two of them.

As Takemichi and Y/n walked in the hallway they saw the 3rd years lying on the floor with their pants dragged down "What's all this?" Takemichi asked "Huh? You mean all the trash" Kenchin answered "All of you guys, line right here with your face down" he continued. The 3rd grades did what they were told and Mikey and Kenchin walked on top of them. 'What the hell is up with them, they can't just start bossing around' Y/n felt a bit irritated towards Mikey and Kenchin as they stomped on our 3rd graders, but they aren't the best people around here, so it was okay for now.

"You feelin' okay?" Kenchin asked Takemichi "Well it's so soon after yesterday". Takemichi answered. "You're guys free today, aren't you?" Mikey asked the two of them. "I have the training," Y/n said right out, but it was like Mikey didn't hear him. "Let's hang out for a little while," Mikey said clinging to Y/n. "Aren't you listening to me!" I yelled a bit too loud to Mikey.

People we walked past gave us stares and a look of amazement. "Are these guys really all that or what?" Y/n whispered to Takemichi. "Yes, they are" Takemichi whispered back. "They aren't really all that to me" I whispered again to Takemichi, but before he could answer someone else start yelling. "Hold it right there!" A girl yelled. 'Oh, isn't that Takemichi's girlfriend, she's so pretty' Y/n was admiring Hina. "Hina!" Takemichi screamed. "Hah, who are you?" Kenchin asked.

Hina kept walking towards us and Takemichi tried to talk to her, but she didn't listen instead she slapped Mikey across the face. 'That's a girl with guts, good job Hina' Y/n phrased her in his head. Takemichi looked like he was ready to cry and Kenchin looked really pissed, while Y/n was trying to hold his laugh. Hina took both Takemichi's and Y/n's hands and started to drag them away, 'Damn this girl is strong!' Y/n thought looking at her strong grip.

Y/n was too busy to listen to the conversation Kenchin and Takemichi had but snapped out of his thoughts when Takemichi stood up for Hina. "I said to let her fucking go! You dumbass!" Takemichi yelled at Kenchin. 'Am gonna let Takemichi deal with him and show Hina what a man he is' Y/n thought to himself as he stepped away from them. "You bastard. Who the fuck do you think you're talking to?" Kenchin asked looking at Takemichi like a maniac. "I ain't gonna give her up a second time!" Takemichi kept yelling. "Hah?" Kenchin hummed.

"Ahh, and here I thought you both could be my friend. Too bad". Mikey said as he walked closer to Takemichi. "Well then. How do you both wanna die?" Mikey asked with a maniac who looked just a bit more scary than Kenchin's. 'No Mikey wouldn't do that' Y/n thought as he was debating for to stop Mikey from walking closer to Takemichi or if he should stand by and see how it ends. "You're making a face like you won't be able to stand on your own again" Mikey continued. "Just promise me one thing" Takemichi started. "Mhm," Mikey looked confused. "Promise that you won't lay a hand on Hina!" Takemichi shouted in a protective manner over Hina. "Hah? I don't give a damn about her!" Mikey said while getting ready to punch Takemichi.'That's enough' Y/n thought as he ran to stop Mikey from punching Takemichi, but before he could do that Mikey stopped and smiled at Takemichi. "Just kidding!" Mikey said in a joyful tone. Takemichi looks like he was scared shitless. "There's no way I'd lay a hand on a girl". Mikey said with a smile reassuring Takemichi that he was just joking about killing them. Takemichi and Kenchin started to talk while Y/n just looked dumbfounded but brushed it off.

"I am so sorry" Hina apologized and bowed. "I must have misunderstood something". Hina continued. "It's okay. Don't worry about it," Mikey said. "It was an amazing slap tho," Mikey said which made Hina apologize more to him. Hina and Mikey start talking about it before Hina turned around and starts walking into the school again.

Y/n pov:

We are currently riding bikes. Takemichi and Mikey share a bike while I share a bike with Kenchin. "So Kenchin-" "It's Draken" "Oh, so you do have another name than Kenchin" Y/n giggled a bit. "Have you been thinking that Kenchin is what everyone is calling me?" Kenchin or Draken asked. "Yes, I heard Mikey said Kenchin yesterday, so I thought that was the name everybody called you" I answered. "No only Mikey calls me that, but you can call me Kenchin if you want, it doesn't bother me," Draken said with a smile to Y/n. "Okay, but I can try and call you Draken tho," Y/n said smiling back at Draken. "Draken look forward!" Y/n yelled making Draken look forward and manage to swing before hitting a trash can. Draken and Y/n started to laugh. Mikey and Takemichi talked about something else on the ride.

We stopped biking and Mikey is talking about his big brother and how it was to be a delinquent in his brother's time and stuff like that. "This is an era when delinquents are called 'lame' isn't it?" Mikey asked. "Yes, I think so? I have never thought of delinquents and stuff like that so I don't know" Y/n mumbled to himself. "In my brother's generation, there were quite a lot of street gangs in this area. There you'd listen to your intuition and act on it. Everyone acted big and all they did was fight". Mikey said while looking at the horizon and smiling while he tells us. Draken was also smiling at Mikey's words. "But everyone took care of themselves. What was so lame about those guts?" Mikey questioned as he looked over at us. I sat down next to Mikey wanting to hear more about what he thinks of delinquents. "That's why I'm going to create an era for delinquents" Mikey smiled and proudly said. "That sounds like a wonderful idea," I said looking over at him and giving him a smile. "You both should accompany me on that journey. I was pleased by you both, Y/n L/n, Hanagaki Takemichi". Y/n was a bit taken aback by that, but Draken started to speak. "We have plenty of guys that are good at fighting, but there aren't many guys like you both who would stand against anyone if it were for something you couldn't 'give up' or see hurt," said Draken making both me and Takemichi start smiling. "Think about it Y/N, Takemichi" Draken said as he and Mikey went off.

"So, what do you think Takemichi" I asked looking over at him. "I don't know, but it looks like Mikey isn't so bad after all" Takemichi said looking over the horizon. "I agree, welp a got to go, my aunt will kill me if am late for one of her training sessions," I said as I started to run off. Takemichi went the other way, so I will mostly see him at school tomorrow.
