"can we talk?"

y/n stared at mark, who was currently standing in his doorway. he hadn't called or texted beforehand, which y/n usually wouldn't mind, but now he just felt bothered.

"talk? or fuck and leave?" y/n countered with a blank face. mark was a little taken back.

"..what?"

y/n scoffed.

"you can't possibly be serious."

"okay, you're upset, right?" mark asked, now walking inside to face y/n better.

"yes, i'm upset??"

mark sighed. he didn't like when y/n raised his voice, but he knew he deserved it. he'd been trying to avoid what he did, but he knew perfectly well.

"y/n, i-"

"no, i'm gonna talk first," y/n interrupted. "i was gonna try to be understanding with you cause.. well it's you, but after finding out that you lied to me about your schedule?? i really don't give a fuck about whatever excuse you can care to come up with. that was fucking bullshit, mark."

"you're right.. but, y/n please let me-"

"do you know how fucking stupid i felt after you literally left me still undressed and alone? what the fuck happened?"

at this point, mark felt terrified of both his feelings and y/n. he originally came hoping to finally confess, but instead he was looking down at his feet in shame. he knew y/n was right to be upset, and he wanted nothing more than to just hug him and apologize a thousand times. however, his fear won out.

"why does it matter.. this was gonna end at some point anyways," he finally mumbled.

y/n's expression dropped. his breathing became staggered as he tried to hold back his tears. it was silent throughout the apartment, but it felt louder than ever.

mark finally looked up to meet y/n's eyes and his now dampened cheeks. his heart sank knowing that he caused it.

"go to hell, mark."

"y/n.." mark's voice sounded broken, but y/n couldn't find a single ounce of consideration for him.

"no, please just leave."

mark's throat closed up as he held back his own tears now.

"please just let m-"

"mark, get the fuck out of my apartment."

mark's gaze stayed on him for a minute, watching his cries become heavier. after he didn't move, y/n pressed against his arm to move him. mark stumbled a bit, but he decided to comply and just leave.

he turned as he stepped back outside, but before he could look at y/n, the door was already shut in his face. he stared in shock for a minute at what had just unraveled. with a drawn out sigh, he began making his way home.
