It was another morning where you had to fill in for a sleeping-in Miguel. You would first get Gabriella out of bed, then get ready for the day, and finally head down to start breakfast. The young girl joins you moments later after she is all dressed.
It was a simple and pleasant routine you have grown accustomed to. You were not always an early bird, but your duties to Gabriella motivated you. And it was always satisfying to be able to provide for her and make her happy. lol, motherhood
"You got my favorite cereal! Thank you, Mom!" Gabriella bursts of happiness, glorifying the cardboard box of cereal.
Just before you were going to answer her, you finally processed her words. You snap towards her in shock, thinking your ears deceived you. You felt so honored that she would call you Mom so soon. It only made you strive to be the best for her.
A large smile spreads across your face, "Of course, ma chérie, every soccer player needs it."
She grins at you and begins to eat her cereal excitedly. She hums in delight, to which you couldn't help but laugh. The smile never left your face, you were still so giddy that she had referred to you as her mother this quickly. Something about it just melts you inside, maybe it was because of your dream to be a mother.
"Eat slowly, or you'll choke." You warn, deciding to cook some breakfast for Miguel.
"Y'know," She utters with her mouth full, "I'm glad you're here to take me to school, Mom. Because Dad never wakes up."
You smile at her attitude towards Miguel's oversleeping. How interesting that her real father shared many similar traits to your Miguel. Such as oversleeping, a large appetite, and awkward behavior.
"Tell me about it." You roll your eyes.
"Are you guys talking about me?" Miguel walks in with a yawn.
Gabriella gasps sarcastically, "What? He lives!"
Miguel stuck his tongue out at her before making his way over to you and kissing your head. You and Miguel hear Gabriella let out quiet noises of pure happiness. You could already tell what she was thinking from Miguel's small kiss. (Remember that she thinks if Miguel kisses you, you're basically her mom) The two of you smile at each other until you turn to focus on the breakfast.
"Oh? Is that for me?" Miguel walks over to grab a mug of coffee.
You hum in response, stirring the scrambled eggs and sausage, "Something light, since I know you don't have an appetite in the morning. For once."
You mumble the last part under your breath. Miguel still caught it, sending you a humorless look.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." He rolls his eyes and takes a sip from his mug.
"He's never up in the morning, so I never see him eat." Gabriella pouted.
You send her a rueful smile, "If you want, Loulou, I could wake him up with us every morning?"
Miguel gives you a face that says, 'Don't you dare', but you ignore it.
Gabriella cheered, "That would be awesome!"
He groaned beside you, dreading to be up so early in the morning. "I wake up early for once out of kindness for you guys, and now I'm going to be forced against my will."
The girl giggled, "It's okay, Dad. You can just go to sleep as early as me now!"
You show her an impressed look, "That's a good idea, Loulou. Won't you sleep earlier from now on, Miguel?"
