Chapter 4 The Gaint of Riddles

After travelling a short distance a storm broke so we took shelter and waited for it to stop a loud crack of lightning flashed across the sky Kree gave a caw "Scared of a little thunder? what a big baby" Said Leif Kree then flew up and started pecking Leif he then saw me and Jasmine in a sour mood on the floor "Are you two still mad?" Asked Leif "Yes we're mad" I said "Going north is the worst idea we're forcing a confrontation with Thaegan" said Jasmine "Perhaps but this is the most direct route to the lake of tears" said Barda "But the lake is right at the edge of her territory if we approach from the south we wouldn't have to face it till the very end" I said "We've been though this the way south is to long it increases the chance of running into Grey Guards" said Barda "I'm sorry but I think Barda's right there will be danger no matter what route we take so I think that the short route is the best" said Leif "What you know we agree on something" said Barda "So looks like it's two against two and since I have the belt I win" said Lief "Looks to me Leif doesn't know how to count Jasmine and I Kree and Filli all agree this is a bad idea" I said "Kree and Filli aren't human they can't vote in this" said "No you just don't want to lose the majority" said Jasmine "Plus Thaegan is now 10 times more powerful then she was before the Shadow Lord has only made her stronger now she's just full of wickedness if we keep on this path the quest will be over before we even get to the lake" I said "But we don't have another choice" countered Lief "Look were positive one of the gems we seek is hidden in the lake of tears" said Barda we just huffed and turned our head away Leif growled and went to fire back but Barda placed a hand on his shoulder "Jasmine and Xavier have lived on there own for a long time it seems there a little new to making decisions that involve another people" said Barda "Yeah yeah I get that but that doesn't mean they have to be so stubborn" said Leif Kree flew up again and start to peck Lief again "Yeah get him Kree" I said "Apparently Kree takes offence to that comment" Laughed Barda

The next day the storm had cleared and a Rainbow hanged high in the sky we walked down a long dirt path green trees cover both side of us we got to a high hill of saw the view of green plains painted with a backdrop of clear blue sky's "What a view sure is peaceful" said Barda "That animals that live don't think so" I grumbled Up the ahead the path ended a wide chasm stretched in ether direction front of them was a bridge but a huge boulder blocked it "What is that?" asked Lief "I don't know but what ever it is it's blocking the Bridge" said Barda the said boulder then uncurled two arms and legs and turned out to be a giant with a huge sword Leif began to pull out his sword but Barda stopped him "Wait by the looks of him I don't think he wants to attack us" said Barda that was proven wrong when it brought it's sword down on them they clash with there swords "Just what kind of giant is he?" asked Lief "Maybe one of Thaegan's" said Jasmine "You are wrong I may have been forced to guard this bridge by the Sorceress Thaegan but I am the property of no one" he said "But what do you mean?" asked Lief "It was many years ago I tried to outsmart the Sorceress this angered Thaegan so she cast a spell forcing me to guard this bridge until truth and lies are one" said the giant Kree flew over to me and start cawing "Hmm what you saying?" I asked "How can truth and lies ever be one what your saying doesn't make any senses" said Leif "Excuse me sir I can see your a reasonable giant were enemies of Thaegan to please let us pass" I asked the giant looked at me then lowered his sword "Very well I will tell you a riddle to test your intelligent if you are correct you many pass but if you are wrong I will dispose of you" said the giant "You mean you'll try" said Barda the giant them dropped 5 sticks on to the ground "Make 5 to 3 without taken away any sticks said the giant "That's impossible there's no why to 5 those 5 stick become 3 with taken 2 away" said Leif "The riddle has been asked you must answer it before the time runs out said the giant turning over a large hourglass look all looked at it "Turn 5 into 3 hmm" I said a light blub just went off in Jasmine and my head "We know the answer" said Jasmine Jasmine and I knelt down "You said we couldn't remove any but you didn't say we couldn't move them" I said we rearranged the until the formed a 3 "There's or 3" said Jasmine the giant yelled but then moved aside "You may pass Jasmine and I started to make your way across the bridge Leif went to follow but the giant stopped him not you you stay there only those who answer my riddle may pass" said the giant "You wait for us on the other side of the bridge will be there soon" said Barda to us we nodded and walked across "You seem to be a confect man there for you will answer the next question" said the giant this time he dropped 5 symbols on the ground "arrange this in order" he said Barda got down to get a better look "I've never seen this symbols before there's no way I could place them in order is it like some coded there's no choice I'll just have to fight him" said Barda he then saw the refection on his sword in the water "Mirror images there's 2 side" said Barda then started chopping the symbols in half making them into the numbers 1 to 5 "There in order" said Barda the giant yelled again but let Barda pass "Now it's your turn" said the giant to Leif "My friend manged to solve your riddles I know I can" said Lief "I will sing you a song it long so listen Carful"
