Down in the deep and dirty dungeons filled with filth and the strong smell of blood, the prisoners rotted to death and were treated no less than rats, those who got captured would never see the light of day and the guards made sure of it.Those that resisted the rule of the Monarch were kept there and tortured brutally.

Taesung who was captain of the knights, was torturing a prisoner who was suspected of holding secret meetings regarding an uprising against the Monarch,'Why are you showing so much resistance?!you know it's futile,sooner or later you will give in and spill all there is and i will-'

He was interrupted by a knight who had a message for him,' sir, your presence is immediately requested by the Monarch'. "Is that so?, then i will tidy myself a bit before i leave, you tell his highness I will soon arrive at the palace", as he gave his order the knight took his leave and departed from the dungeon.

✧In the throne room✧

It only took some minutes for Taesung to reach the room,the guards at the door were informed of his arrival so he was granted permission to enter. As soon as he entered, he bowed and gave his greetings to his highness, the Monarch dismissed his attendants, this was done as a security measure as spies from time to time sneaked inside the castle walls pretending to be workers inorder to extract any sort of information that would be useful to the rebel groups that is plotting for the downfall of his highness's rule.

"Lift your head,Taesung and tell me something good you already know the reason why I called you here",said the monarch with his face bearing no expression,a sudden rush of fear came over Taesung as he had no good news to offer to his highness he knew what his highness wanted him to say,that the capture of Minho was successful,that a divine weapon did not go to waste......but there was no way out,"your highness"he started, " the mission did not go accordingly to plan he was assisted by some filthy rat right at the moment he was about to fall into our hands" Taesung knew by instinct not to look up to face his highness as he knew that he was not pleased at what was being said to him and to add to his trembling state his highness started to move towards him and in a moment he grabbed Taesung's face and brought it closer to his,"My loyal dog you have disappointed me today,hmm how should I punish you?".

Taesung had witnessed one of his subordinate that was decapitated and his body fed to stray dogs for simply failing to get rid of pesky flies,but his mission was greater and he failed his majesty's expectations he had to think of something and it struck him," my deepest apologies your highness, but i have one more thing to report", the displeased Monarch let go of his face,"speak and it better be worth something" regaining his composure Taesung continued,"very merciful of your highness,as i was saying,rumours has it that some of the common folks who were cutting trees for firewood had witnessed something peculiar, something definitely not human in the woods close to District 09 as it is only rumours it may be exaggerated one of them even mentioned of seeing that person with hair that was like the shade of a beautiful sapphire stone and-" before he could utter more words the Monarch grabbed his collar which caught Taesung off guard,"your highness, was there-" Taesung you have said something interesting and for that I'll let you off because it's worth more than the mission you've failed,now why don't you be a good boy and find out more about it for me?The monarch let go of Taesung's collar and proceeded to sit back on the throne," leave me now and don't come back without good results".

Taesung delighted at his second chance bowed accepting his new mission and as he was leaving the throne room, the monarch called for him,Taesung turned to see an eerie smile that had crept its way on his highness's face," remember this, you are not to speak about whatever we conversed in this room to anyone, understand?" To which Taesung simply nodded and exited the room not quite understanding why his highness acted that way and why the rumours were worth more than the mission he failed.
