Narrator's POV in the party.
The Armed Detective Agency was raving about their triumph over the port mafia. As the agency members arrived, they were greeted with bright decorations, music, food, and drinks. The atmosphere was lively with laughter and conversations were echoing throughout the room.
The room wass filled with happy and drunk co-workers,all dressed in their best clothes having a good time. The party Fukuzawa has thoughtfully arranged seating, making sure everyone has a place to sit and chat comfortably.
The party started with an introduction and a welcome from the host, who makes sure everyone is settled and comfortable. As the night progresses, the energy and excitement build up, and guests start mingling with each other, chatting, sharing stories, and bonding over shared interests.
The food and drinks are served, ranging from appetizers to main courses, desserts, and drinks. People can be seen exchanging food and drinks, sharing their favorites and trying new things.
As the night wears on, the music gets louder, and people start dancing. The dance floor is filled with people of all ages, showing off their moves and having a great time. Some people are singing, while others can be seen playing games, including board games, card games or party games.
As the night precedes everyone notices Dazai's normal enthusiasm is gone like it never exsisted. He's neither drunk nor planning some kind of prank, instead he looks extremely depressed, empty and miserable even.
Narrator's POV has shifted to Ranpo and Dazai.
Ranpo came up to Dazai and and asked
Ranpo "Dazai...are you okay? You not eating nor drinking. Your wiskey has been watered down"
Dazai "Oh I'm fine. I'm just not in the mood to party right now, that's all"
Ranpo "Don't lie to me,Dazai. I know your still mourning over Mr. Fancy Hat's death. But Chuuya did sacrifice himself because if he didn't go corruption on Fyodar, Fyodar would have blown up the whole city"
Dazai "If only I had gotten there in time but hey you got me. But don't mention that rat to me ever again. Because of him Chibi's gone"
Ranpo "Um ok. I see your not successful in your suicide attempts still?"
Dazai "I would have killed myself by now if it wasn't for mine and Chuuya's stupid bet"
Ranpo "What bet?"
Dazai "Me and Chuuya made a bet at 17 that if I die first Chuuya would inherit all my wealth and he would completely stop drinking,smoking and wearing his tacky hats and if Chuuya died first I would inherit all his wealth,I would do my own work and would stop trying and talking about doing double suicide or just suicide in general"
Ranpo "Ohhhhhh, well if you ever need to talk to some one, I'm always here"
Dazai "Thanks,Ranpo. Anyways I'm gonna go now. Don't drink alot or else you'll get a really bad hangover,bye see you all tomorrow"
Ranpo "Bye, see you tomorrow." •I should inform the rest about Dazai situation. But before that I need to know what Mr. Fancy Hat ment to Dazai. If I had to take a guess probably his lover if further than that his best friend but it won't go more backward than that. Eh I'm just gonna go and get Dazai's file to see if that has any info"
Narrator's POV has shifted to Ranpo
Ranpo went to the room where Dazai's file was kept and looked there.
Ranpo •Found it! Ok lets seeee. THEY WERE MARRIED!?. I mean I did see them as people who liked eachother and maybe even as lovers at times but Dazai and Chuuya kinda hated eachother but them being were a married couple really is astonishing. I'll ask Fukuzawa about this tomorrow. But first I need more information. If I had to take a guess probably financial n' health benefits. Chuuya was extremely rich and Dazai was the only one who could stop corruption and no one knew better on how to treat Chuuya after using it•
Ranpo said his goodbye to everyone and left to his apartment which he shared with his lover, Poe. Poe was peaceful reading when Ranpo made it back to their home. He was as quite as possible as to not disturb the other. The detective got a pack of ramune and all the snacks he could find. Then he opened his laptop and started not even an hour in he found out that Chuuya and Dazai's marriage was a love marriage. When he found that out his jaw dropped he was completely shocked and then he left it there since he didn't want to know any further as he didn't want to have any more heart attacks. Leaving the mess he created in the living room he went to take a shower and then after the shower and getting changed he went to cuddle with his boyfriend.
