The sad chapter has come :(( just a warning for those who want to skip it.

It's fairly long, twice as long than I usually write, so brace yourself!

The long-awaited game day finally arrived. Gabriella was not nervous at all, but instead very excited. You were excited for her, you knew she was going to do great and win. When you stepped outside, however, Gabriella groaned.

"Did it rain last night?" The gross humidity sticking to her skin greatly decreased her mood.

You rubbed her back in sorrow, "Yes, it did. Hopefully, the game isn't canceled today. But we're going to find out, okay?"

Gabriella grew sad, "Okay . . ."

You pass a concerned glance to Miguel who looked worried as well, opening the car door. You felt hurt by how much the possibility of cancelation made Gabriella sad. You hoped the stadium would still be up and running.

Arriving at the large platform, you met with the coach waiting outside with many other students and parents.

"Hey, Coach." Miguel shook the coach's hand. "What's going on?"

"Well," He sighed, readjusting his cap, "The stadium is closed because of the weather last night. So, we're making plans to use a nearby college's football field. We're hoping they'll accept, especially since it's last minute."

You felt Gabriella's sadness radiating off of her, you couldn't help but stroke her hair to try and comfort her.

Miguel sighed, "Well, it's good we have other options. I just hope we-"

A parent exclaimed excitedly, "Hey! They're letting us have the game there!"

All the kids and some adults cheered, and Gabriella started to bounce happily on her feet. You and Miguel exchange a look of relief. The college was not too far away, but you were able to see that it was drier there than it was at the stadium. Gabriella's happy singing tunes brought a smile to your face. You were grateful that things were going swell so far.

"Alright, Gabriella. We're here-" She jumps out with her small duffel bag, running to the group of students.

You and Miguel barely made it out of the car, looking at each other in excitement for her. You both walked together hand in hand.

"I've never been to a soccer game, but I think I know how it's played." You pondered.

Miguel squeezed your hand, "If you ever get confused, I can fill you in on the game."

You smile at him, "Someone studied their sports."

He rolls his eyes, "I've known soccer since I was a kid. I was just nervous to take her to her practices because of how . . . annoying kids can be."

You hum in response, giving him a look that told him you were not convinced. He discreetly smacks your butt, causing you to get flustered. You turn to glare at him, feeling embarrassed that he would do that with a group of people around you. He pays attention to the coach's pep talk to the girls, acting nonchalantly. Before the girls were sent out into the field for warmups and stretches, Gabriella quickly ran to you guys to give you both a hug.

"You'll do great, Chiquita. We're rooting for you." Miguel kisses her head.

You smile at her, "You can do it! Make sure to stretch well so you don't hurt yourself, okay?"

She gives you guys a big grin, jumping to hug you both. "I love you guys!"

You and Miguel look at each other in surprise, breaking out into big smiles and hugging her back. "We love you too."
