It didn't. The feeling in Jean's stomach was even worse by the time he woke up. He decided that risking school was not worth it and stayed home. His mother brought him tea and crackers for him to eat. She stuck a thermometer in his mouth and left to start some soup. While she was gone, Jean stuck the thermometer in his cup of tea.
As soon as he heard approaching footsteps, he took the thermometer out his tea and into his mouth. She took the thermometer out his mouth and gasped when she read it.
"What's it say?" Jean said in his fake sick voice.
"You're running a fever of 103 Fahrenheit!(39 degrees celsius)"
