You could feel the anger boiling up. But you stopped yourself and took a deep breath.
You then just went to your desk and started working on your homework.
Before you knew it you were drifting off and fell asleep on your desk.
All of a sudden, it was 3 am and you woke up to random knocking on your door. You didn't have a roommate, so you were confused as to why someone was coming to your room at this hour.
Then you heard the voice of the person knocking.
"Y/n? Are you in there?" It said.Of fucking course, it was Matheo.
You had barely woken up, so you didn't reply.
"Y/n please open the door!" He said. You continued to ignore him. You simply just got up from your desk, realizing you had slept there. Suddenly you saw your phone that had been next to you. 4 missed calls from Matheo. You rolled your eyes.
You put your phone faced down and walked over to your bed and layed down.
You still heard Matheo knocking, but after a few minutes he gave up and you assumed he left.
You then closed your eyes and fell back asleep.
You were soon woken up by the alarm you had set for yourself. You didn't really feel like dealing with people just yet, so you decided to sleep through breakfast.
Soon you decided to get up and get ready because it was almost time to walk to your first class.
After doing your morning routine, you left your room, and common room, and headed towards your first class.
You only had one class before lunch, and then two classes afterwards.
You made your way to your first class and sat down.
It felt like forever, and you had been fighting sleepiness for the past hour. The teachers voice was emotionless and never ending.
Eventually, class ended and you slowly left to go to lunch.
As you where about to head to the dining hall, you decided you didn't really feel like eating went to the Library instead, and do some school work.
Once you arrived at the library, you sat down and began your work.
Eventually 40 minutes had gone by, and your concentration was broken by the sound of someone else coming into the Library. You didn't bother to look up, and just continued to work.
Suddenly you heard footsteps of someone walking towards you, you still didn't look up.
Eventually someone sat right across from you.
You could smell the strong and familiar cologne of the person, and knew immediately who it was.
Matheo.
You continued to work.
"Y/n? I brought you this." Matheo said in a sweet tone. He held out a small plate of food (imagine whatever food you want, just make sure it's food you like <3). You moved your eyes to look at the plate, but didn't go to the effort to bring your head up.
"Food isn't allowed in the Library." You said bringing your gaze back to your work.
"I know, but when was the last time you ate?" He asked sounding concerned. "Doesn't matter. I'm not hungry." You said plainly.
"Have you eaten at all today? I mean you weren't at dinner last night or breakfast, and now lunch." He said with a slight worry in his tone.
"I said I'm not hungry." You repeated.
He sighed.
"Is something wrong?" He asked.
"No." You said plainly.
"Y/n please talk to me." He pleaded.
"I'm talking to you right now." You said coldly.
"You know what I mean." He said.
"No. I don't." You lied.
"At least look at me then." He asked.
You looked up and met his eyes. He looked back into yours deeply, as if he was searching for something.
"Y/n, come on ple-" he began before you cut him off, "I just don't like the fact that you waltz in whenever you feel like it an pretend like you care about me". You said angrily.
"Y/n come on you know that's not fair." He said. "No Matheo you know what's not fair, you completely ignoring the letters I sent you while you were away and then not telling me you switched your train and just letting me wait at the train station for you till the very last train only to find out you ditched me for you friends, and then when I tried to confront you about the situation, you dismissed me and made me feel like I was crazy for wanting to be involved in your life." You ranted. "Y/n I-" he began before you cut him off again, "And you want to know the most unfair part of it all? You don't even think you did anything wrong, and you expect me to think the same." You finished.
He looked a little stunned, but you didn't care. You felt like a weight had been lifted off your chest. Part of you was blaming yourself for the whole situation, so rightfully putting the blame onto Matheo brought you much needed relief.
Matheo took a deep breath before responding. "I don't expect you to think I did nothing wrong, but I do want you to understand the whole thing." He started. "The whole thing?" You questioned.
"Yes." He explained. You have him a look indicating you were willing to hear what he had to say. "I didn't get any of the letters you sent me when I was home. I don't know if they got intercepted or something like that, but I didn't know you had even sent them." He continued, "that's why I didn't meet you at the train station. I thought you were mad at me or just wanted space or that you were ignoring me." He explained. "Well then why did you continue to ignore me even after I told you I had sent letters?" You questioned.
"I didn't really know how to respond in the moment. I hadn't fully processed what you said, and was still hurt cause I thought you were mad at me." He informed you.
"I was mad at you, but not because I wanted space, because I didn't want space and you were ignoring me." You took a breath before continuing, "And when I confronted you, you made me feel stupid for trying to communicate with you" You tried to hide the hurtness in your tone, but the more you talked, the more it slipped out.
"I know, and I'm sorry for making you feel that way." He apologized. "Thank you for saying that." You thanked him.
"But I'm not ready to forgive you. One apology doesn't fix everything you did." You told him.
He looked a little shocked, but quickly went back to a more neutral expression. "I understand." You could sense a little almost anger to his tone. And you could tell that he was hurt that you didn't forgive him.
You didn't doubt what he said, you just needed some time for him to feel what neglection felt like. (Toxic, ik). But also, you still just hadn't fully forgives him and needed time to re-access the whole situation.
You stood up. "Lunch is almost over, so I'm gonna head to class." You said while standing up. Matheo stood up too, "I'll walk you." He said with a little smile. "No um I'm okay I have to stop at the bathroom first and then stop at my dorm so it's okay." You said trying to be subtle.
He sighed, but took the hint. "Okay well I'll see you in class then." He tried to keep his smile. "Yeah." You said with a small, forced smile.
You then grabbed your stuff and walked out, leaving Matheo there.
