Sofia's POV

It's lunch and I'm suddenly terrified. I don't even know my way around Los Angeles. Where do I go to eat lunch? I guess I'll just call Amber. When I called her, the four time that I did, it went straight to voicemail. I guess her phone is dead, like always. I got into my car and just drove until I found the nearest restaurant or any place with food. I found this little cafe on the corner of Maple and 5th called Cafe Dulce. I decided to walk in and start getting my food and see if Amber ever showed up. She didn't have a car anyways since we shared one. If she was going to go to a cafe, this is the nearest one to the campus so I was almost certain she was going to come to Cafe Dulce too. I didn't need a car but brought one in case I would've had to go far.

"Hey there." said this boy who popped out of nowhere. He was wearing True Religion jeans and a Hollister shirt, obviously one of the people giving USC its nickname of University of Spoiled Children. He had the perfect hair quiff and an acne free face. His skin tone was so perfect, carmel. He almost looked like what everyone thinks of a perfect white boy, but a more tan one.

"Umm..." I didn't know if he was talking to me, or someone behind me.

"Yeah you. Girl in the shorts and red shirt."

I pointed a finger at myself and he nodded his head yes. I walked a few steps closer to him.

"Yeah... What did you want?" I hesitantly asked with a smile so I don't come off as rude.

"I was wondering if you wanted to sit with us?"He was walking towards what looked like the popular and rich people table. I didn't think I would see "popular" people at colleges too. They all had brand name clothes and the girls with Gucci sunglasses and Louis Vuitton purses. I was worried that if I sat with them, I would see Amber but not be able to get up and go to her. I looked around the cafe quickly scanning to see if I could find her but I couldn't so I just sat down on the opposite side of the booth from boy who called me over. I was on the edge just incase I saw Amber I could just slide out without having everyone move for me to get out.

"So, is this your first year at USC? I don't think I have ever seen you here," he questioned. Already, this was the seventh time someone had asked me this.

"Yeah. How long have you been here at USC?"

"Been here since freshman year, which technically is only one year!" he exclaimed with great pride. Then I hear a faint whisper, "no one...like you." I couldn't hear it all because his friends came running and laughing. I wonder what he was talking about, or who he was talking to. I don't know why but I wanted to know. Just then I spotted Amber. The boy who greeted me so nicely was busy talking to his friends so I just slid out from the booth and walked to Amber.

"Amber! I am so sorry! I forgot to call you but I thought we were meeting at my car anyways. Where the hell were you?!" I yelled.

"Sorry, mom." she laughed and sarcastically stated."I had to stay in Professor Tait's class a few minutes late because I guess I was talking too much in class."

"On the first day already? How do you already have so many friends that you got in trouble for talking?!"

"Hey I'm popular and I can't help it. I'm IRRESISTABLE." Amber said as she hysterically laughed.

"Shut up! You little butthole. Well, while you were gone I met someone. See that kid over there on the table with popular looking people. That, him with the brown hair."

"OH MY GOD! He's hella hot! Get it girrrl! What's his name?"

"Ummmm...Uh.... I am not sure what his name is. I don't think I actually asked. Ehh... Whatever I probably won't see him again anyways."

I looked at my watch and relooked at it multiple times. How did an hour pass so quickly? I had photography class next and I was going to be late if I didn't leave right now. Ever since my mom passed away I started becoming very interested in photos to capture every moment possible. I was planning on being a photographer as my side job since journalism will leave a bit of time for me to be able to make some money doing what I enjoy most.

Cafe Boy's POV

"Hey guys do you know where the new girl sitting with us went? She was right here just a little while ago. I thought she went to the bathroom but she never came back." I said as I realized she left.

Why would she leave like that? No girl had ever left me. Especially a hott one like her.

"I didn't see her," said my best friend, Nash.

I mumbled a little, "Oh..." Nash is cool. He is kind of a brother to me. Even though we met in seventh grade, we still became really tight friends. Nash has two brothers, Hayes and Will, a sister, Skylynn, and his mom and dad are divorced. Hayes is like my little brother too, but he moved away for some kind of boarding school thing for football. "Why would that girl leave so suddenly leaving me with just the thought of her. I didn't get her number yet. In fact, I didn't even get her name." I thought to myself until Nash slapped me because I guess I went into a little daydream.

"Yes, yes I'm fine. I was just thinking about how we fell and it was kind of funny. I mean it was so uncalled for." By now we were both laughing.
