Chapter 9

The door opened and we both looked down at our papers. "I'm assuming you finished. If you didn't then I expect you to. I have all night." Snape said sitting down at his desk. I got up and walked over to him. I handed him the paper. "5 points to Hufflepuff." I smiled.

 Draco got up and handed it to Professor Snape too. "10 points to Slytherin." My jaw dropped. "Why do I only get 5?" I said. "I can make that negative 5." He said. I put my hands up in defeat and then walked out of the classroom. It was pitch black in the halls.

I heard the door open and close. "Fuck, it's dark out here." I heard Draco say. His swearing sent chills down my spine. He didn't notice I was there, I slipped further into the shadows. "She is so perfect. I just have to keep this on the down low. Maybe she won't mind secretly dating?" I probably shouldn't have used the reading mind spell but I did. Yeah, I kinda don't want Harry mad at me anymore. Secret dating would be perfect.

He walked away down the hall, assuming he is on his way to the Slytherin common room. I turned around and went the other way, heading up the stairs to the Hufflepuff common room. I bumped into someone."Jesus Christ. Are you good?" I said. "Ellie?" It was Harry. "Lumos." He said and his wand lit up like a torch. "Yep, that's me," I said.

 His face went from soft to angry. "Okay but seriously. What did I do? Why have you gone all mad at me?" I said. "Ask the whole school, Ellie." He said and went to walk past. I stopped him. "Harry, for fucks sake. I do not like Malfoy. End of story, end of rumours." I said. I mean, of course, it was a lie but still. His face softened."I'm sorry. I mean I knew it was weird for you to like him but everyone is believing so..." He stopped. 

"Harry, the lack of faith you have in me is crazy," I said laughing. He was looking at me funny. He moved closer to me. Again I think I knew what was about to happen. I wish I was more clueless. He leaned in and kissed me. 

I wonder what he would think if he knew Draco's lips had been on mine about 10 minutes ago...
