Chapter 3

    School ended, and night came by. Minori and Mizuki are walking home together. "Mizuki, have you made a wish yet?" Minori asked. "Uh, yeah. But I'm not gonna tell you what wish I— No way, it's a grief seed.." Oh shit. A grief seed? Minori didn't even know how to fight yet, though.. "Minori, it's about to hatch.. Hold my hand!" Mizuki said. Minori held her hand as the grief seed hatched.

What is this place? Minori doesn't know, and Mizuki doesn't either. "Mizuki, are you scared?" Minori asked. She looked around the unknown place, it looked quite terrifying. "Well, yeah. Of course. I don't even know what this place is supposed to be, but just don't let go of my hand." Replied Mizuki, with a serious tone. They started walking calmly, and Minori was just confused on how calm her friend was.. But thats not the point right now. They approached a doorframe, and went in. "Minori, have you thought about your wish yet?" Mizuki questioned. "Well.. I dont know yet. I need to think wisely, theres two things I'm considering right now.." Minori replied, looking down, as they approached another doorframe with a bridge connected to it.

As they walked to the bridge, talking about wishes, Mizuki changed the topic. "Minori, y'know, being a magical girl isn't all fun and games. It's absolutely miserable. I.. just try to act cool. How hard it is, how complicated it is, I just cry alone. I can't let anyone know about it." Mizuki said, quietly. Minori responded with a "Well, you're not alone anymore." Suddenly, Mizuki stopped, and turned to Minori with tears in her eyes, threatening to roll down her pink cheeks.

"Minori.. Will you seriously fight with me from now on?" Mizuki asked, with her voice cracking. Minori just smiled, and she replied. "Yes, but.. I don't really know how to fight." Mizuki then smiled and muttered a "thank you". "I'm supposed to be your teacher, but im not even all that good, anyways. I'm so stupid, I decided to become a magical girl because i had nothing going on in my life.." She held Minori's hand as tight as she could and starting running. "Minori, let's take out this witch together!" Mizuki said with a smile on her face. Just then, they heard footsteps behind them, and looked behind to see.. Emu Otori. A student who never comes to school.. and has completely changed. Minori stopped, and looked at her.(Which also led to Mizuki stopping as well) She's half blind, wears a red back bow, and has absolutely no light in her eyes.

"What are you two doing here?" Asked Emu. "Just leave, I'll take care of the witch." Mizuki gave her a turned around to look at Emu, and gave her a dirty look. "Just shut up, you're a midget who can't even do anything anyways." Mizuki said, insulting Emu. Mizuki, Also having her soul gem in her hand, used some of the power to tie Emu up. "I-Idiot! Let me go..!" shouted Emu. "Let's go, Minori."

They reached the grief seed, and it was starting to move.. "Alright.. I have to hurry." Mizuki transformed into her magical girl form, and took out her weapon as little creatures starting swarming all over Mizuki and Minori. Mizuki then fights, as Minori watched in awe.. "I haven't been this happy when fighting for a long time." Said Mizuki, with a smile on her face. That took only a few seconds, and after she was done, she took Minori's hand and ran with her to the final door.

Mizuki was very confident with fighting the witch, a little too confident. "I'm sorry for fighting you right after you hatched— but you have to go." But before Mizuki could fight— she was eaten. Minori's eyes widened. No way, how could this happen? Mizuki? Minori's eyes started to water, but.. Emu came. "Mizuki, she never listens. Ah, whatever." The witch then opened its mouth to eat Emu, but— she wasn't there. How did she escape? Well, that's a question for later. As Emu dropped a bomb, the witch ended up eating the wrong thing— and died. Emu returned to her normal form, and said to Minori "Well, you've escaped with your life." Minori was in shock. Her friend, Her best friend, Mizuki.. died. "Well? This is what happens when you become a magical girl. Actually, you are one right now." Said Emu, with a blank stare. They returned back to the real world, And as Emu was about to pick up Mizuki's soul gem that had nothing in it.. Minori stopped her. "N..Noo! Youu can't ttake that..!" Minori was already crying, but Emu picked it up anyways. "Thats.. Nnot yours!! Give i-it back!!" Minori said, sobbing. Gosh, what a poor creature.. Just then, Hachune Miku walked up to them, just staring at Emu. "M..Miku!! Please, get M-Mizuki's soul gem back!!" Miku looked down to Minori, and said nothing as Minori continued to sob.
