Lord Vishnu took many incarnations; Among them, according to the conditions of development, the ten incarnations known as Dashavatar are more important.
Naar means water. Vishnu is the origin of water, hence he is called Narayan. Neer or water was born from Narayan. Creatures were born from water. Vishnu incarnated as a fish; He is the first Matsya Avatar among the Dashavatars.
Vishnu is of the color of a blue cloud filled with water. Just as lightning is hidden inside a cloud, similarly Vishnu himself is effulgent, the water generated from within him also being full of effulgence, radiates fair colored light. That water is the cause of Kshir Sagar.
Kaal (time) in the form of infinity lies coiled in the form of Sheshnag in the ocean of milk. Sheshnag has one thousand hoods. Vishnu in the form of Sheshasayee lies on the eternal Sheshnag. From his navel rose a lotus with a long cord. Brahma was born from the same Padma. Brahma created all the living beings.
Eternity continues in the form of ages. Krita, Treta, Dwapara and Kaliyuga - together these four constitute a great age.
One thousand Mahayugas make up one Kalpa. A kalpa is one day of Brahma (night time is not included in this) as soon as the day is over, he falls asleep. That is Kalpant. At that time there is deep darkness all around. The fire of attraction emanating from Vishnu burns everyone. Thunderstorms start blowing, then fierce black clouds start dropping water streams like elephant trunks continuously. There is a boom in the ocean that touches the sky. Earth, Bhuvar and Swarg Lok are drowned. Nothing is visible except water all around. This is the doomsday, the night of Brahma's sleep.
This is the time of Kalpant.
After bathing in the Rajarshi river named Satyavrat, after meditating on Narayan, when he went to offer Arghya, a small gold colored fish came in his Anjali. Satyavrat was going to release that fish in the river, then that fish said, "O king, our fish species is not good, small fish are eaten by big fish." Even if they escape, the fishermen throw their nets and catch them. That's why I have come to Anjali to seek your refuge. Please don't leave me
Satyavrat took the fish to his city by keeping it in his kamandalu. He was a Rajarshi who did great penance while ruling as a Maharaja. He was an ardent devotee of Vishnu and very knowledgeable.
The small fish inside the kamandalu grew up by the second day and started crying out, "Maharaj, take me out of the kamandalu and take me to a bigger place."
On this the fish were released into the big trough. She grew very big in no time, then Satyavrat put her in a pond. The fish kept increasing, then it was taken from the pond to the big river, from the river to the sea.
On this the fish asked, "O Rajarshi, I have come to your shelter. In such a situation, will you leave me in the sea and go away? Won't the crocodile and Timingal swallow me?
Satyavrat said, "O Mahamin, tell me, what can I do for you more than this? Who can swallow you who grow a hundred schemes in a moment!
After listening to Satyavrat's words, the fish reached the middle of the sea, stretched out to the length of the ocean like a great mountain and said, "Satyavrat, see, your speech turned out to be infallible and will remain infallible." Don't know what I will become by growing up like this?
Satyavrat bowed down with folded hands, and started praising him, "O Narayan of the mermaid! You came to ask for protection and you took the form of a fish to protect me. You are Leelamanush Swaroop incarnated in the form of a fish! Where is the power in me to understand your pastimes?
In response to this, Vishnu who was in Matsya avatar said, "O king, Kalpant is going to happen within seven days. The whole world will drown in the waters of doomsday. But knowledge, medicines and seeds should not be destroyed. A big boat will come for you burning like a lamp in deep darkness. There will be seven sages inside him! That light belongs to those people only!
"You take a pile of medicines and seeds with you in the boat. I will hold the boat tightly on the horns on my head and I will save it from sinking. For this I have incarnated in this form. At this time Brahma is engrossed in sleep, till he wakes up this boat will travel by making Dhruv Nakshatra as direction indicator. In the next Kalpa, you will become Manu by the name of Vaivaswat. Satyavrat bowed his head bowing down to Vishnu's orders.
Matsya Avatar flapping its four wings, breaking the high waves went into the sea.
Brahma was fast asleep. A holocaust was happening in the darkness.
Somkasur named Hayagriva came up from the sea level, then suddenly flew away like a bat to the true world of Brahma.
When Brahma was first yawning due to sleep, then four Vedas shining in white, red, yellow and blue colors came out from his four faces and fell down. Hayagriva took away those Vedas and hid them in the sea.
Hayagriva was a staunch enemy of the gods and Vishnu as well. Without the Vedas, Brahma could not have created the universe. In every Kalpa, Vishnu wanted to promote goodness and develop it. Hayagriva's aim was to spoil his resolution.
The doomsday sea was drowning the earth. At that time, in that deep darkness, Satyavrat saw a boat in the distance in the twinkling light like a constellation. That was the boat filled with the radiance of the seven sages.
Satyavrat took the medicines and seeds inside the boat and started traveling in the same boat praising Narayan. The Matsyavatar had a long horn on its nose. Clinging to that star-shining horn, a great snake was swallowing the doomsday storm. Matsya Avatar was taking the boat safely by breaking the sea stopping the waves with his wings. With Dhruva Nakshatra as its guide, the boat was moving forward like a flower.
Somkasur was walking inside the ocean guarding the Vedas hidden in the womb of the ocean. All the four Vedas were crying in the form of four babies.
Matsya Avatar went ahead searching for the Vedas. Somkasur got scared on seeing Matsya Avatar; Still, gathering courage, he fought with his mace with thorns in his hand.
By that time Vishnu's incarnation in the form of Matsya had reached the waist. All four hands came out in it. Soon a fierce fight broke out between Matsyavatara and Somakasur.
Somkasur reached the bottom of the sea and started running, on this Vishnu cut him into pieces with his discus.
Vishnu came above the water by pressing the Vedas in the form of babies in his bag. All four of them were squealing while playing with the Srivatsa and Kaustubha jewels adorning the neck of the infant Vishnu. All the four children were shining with white, red, yellow and blue colored lights. In the hands of Vishnu, the conch and the wheel were beautiful.
Rishi and Satyavrat seeing the fish incarnation of Vishnu
Raise your hands and start praising him. Holocaust
The orgy had subsided, the land could be seen here and there.
Was engaged The boat also reached its destination.
For Brahma the time of day and night was equal. His sleep time was about to end. Rays of light were bursting in the sky. A new era was starting. Saraswati Devi woke up first. He recited Bhupal raga on his veena.
Brahma woke up. He felt that some disturbance had spread in his four heads. Then after examining, the Vedas were missing. Brahma was somewhat worried about this concern, only then Vishnu appeared in Matsya Avatar and handed over the Vedas to him.
Brahma looked at Vishnu's fish avatar with full of heart, then folded his hands and praised him with all four faces.
"O Narayan! The person who meditates on your fish incarnation, all his troubles will be removed in the same way as all the troubles present in the form of holocaust are removed and the darkness of his ignorance will be removed. Shh
The act of taking Matsya Avatar by Vishnu was successful, so he reached his abode Vaikunth after being introspective.
Brahma started the creation of the universe by taking the Vedas. Satyavrat Shraddha Dev became Manu by the name of Vaivasvat.
The seven sages, after reaching their respective places in the sky, started roaming around the pole, being illuminated in the form of a circle of seven sages. Thus Sut Maharishi narrated the story. On this the sages asked, "Suta Maharishi, we want to hear the story of Dhruva! Shh
Soot Muni started narrating that the highest place in this vast world is the Dhruv Mandal. That is the place of the head of Vishwa Swaroop Vishnu.
