The first few days passed so quickly. After their morning lectures, we wanted to grab coffee and some snacks. "Guys, I know a perfect place!" I invited them to the Atelier. The soft hum of conversations enveloped the cozy space, as we entered.

"Hi Jann!" I waved at my friend, who was luckily on his shift that day. We ordered our snacks and beverages, and settled into a corner booth. Everyone exchanged anecdotes and their impressions of the first few days of their studies.

Mia leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "I can't believe how inspiring my visual arts class has been! The professor encourages experimentation and pushing boundaries. I'm already overflowing with ideas for my next project," she was gesticulating in the air like she was trying to capture all the fleeting ideas, and her bracelets were clanking with her every move.

Zoe announced: "The Theatre program is incredible too! We had an intense workshop on improvisation today. It turned out to be exhilarating. So much fun! Ethan can confirm!"

Ethan nodded in agreement. "It was! I am perfectly prepared to play a role of wild cat now. Maybe I will star in Cats in the future, who knows? Meoowwww", he closed his mouth to Zoe's ear and tried to lick her.

Zoe dodged the lick and laughed. "Oh, drop it, Ethan! Bad cat! You're not being serious."

"Not if I can't help it", he said with a shrug. "But, yeah, it was fun, especially that part, where I was paired with you for the mirror assignment."

My friends were exchanging lively chatter, I was smiling politely, and nodding, but my thoughts were somewhere else. I zoomed out for a while. They all were so talented and developing their skills, whereas I struggled to play a whole piano piece without tripping over a note. In my practical classes I only copycatted Chopin, Mozart, Bach, and I wanted to create something unique, just like in writing I created my own stories. I wanted to give something original to the world.

Suddenly someone nudged my shoulder. "Hey, Ground Control to Major Tom!", said Ava, trying to imitate David Bowie.

"Huh?" I snapped out of my daydream.

"Silvia, what do you think? How are you finding your classes?", asked Mia.
