I woke up in a tangled mess of hair and blankets, my eyes crusted shut and my mouth feeling dry. I stayed for a minute, thought of the day to come and begged the butterflies in my stomach to take a break. I was excited and nervous and scared and so hopeful, all wrapped into one big confusing mess. A first date. What do you wear on a first date? How much makeup? Of course she had not told me where we were going, making my decision so much harder. I swallowed my nerve and rolled onto my side to grab my phone and text her to find out. But as I opened a new message, I hesitated, stopping to think maybe it was too early, but I guess not if she was going to be meeting me at the cafe at noon. So I sent it, asking casual or dressy, and got an immediate reply that said, "Casual for walking but something super cute". I had my answer and I got up to get ready. When I was done my blonde hair was messily thrown up in a clip and I was wearing my settled on outfit. A pair of light denim jeans, nude wedges, a slimming black tank, and a pop of color in my pink cardigan. I did my make up pretty natural and added some gloss and was on my way to the cafe where I had met Perry only three days prior.
