"Is this her?"
"There's no one else laying in the wasteland"
"So it has to be her."
"Yes."
The sound of voices pulled Ava from her sleep, when her eyes fluttered open she was met with a pair of dark brown and blue eyes staring back at her. When the image of the two men standing over registered in her brain Ava let out a shriek and jumped back. "AH! Who the fuck are you!"
"Humans are quite vulgar," said the man with the darker hair, "Well I like the sound of fuck. It's fun to say. Fuck." The blonde haired man smiled while the other man rolled his eyes in the back of his head. "Who are you? Where are we? Do you know where I can find Reya??" Ava questioned, sitting up from where she was laying. The two men stepped back giving Ava a good look at them. They were both rather handsome, tall and toned. The man with the long dark curly hair was taller than the other man who was less serious and had short blonde beachy hair.
"Well, my name is Raphael, this is Gabriel. You are in, what the humans call heaven, but it's nothing like it's described in your holy texts. And yes we can bring you to Reya, they sent us out to find you." The names they had a familiar sound to them. She thought back to the theology lessons that Beatrice would make her listen to, and she found why the names were so familiar. The Archangel Raphael, God's messenger angel. And the Archangel Gabriel, God's healing angel. These two men were not men at all. They were real angels, and they didn't seem like the douchebag type like Adriel.
"Raphael and Gabriel, you two are angels." They both nodded, Gabriel smiling as he did so. Gabriel looked kind, and young, he looked to be about in his mid twenties, emphasis on only looked that way. Raphael looked slightly older but his skin was smooth, free of any blemishes or wrinkles, but the look in his bright blue eyes indicated that he was much older than he looked, many millennia older.
"Yes we are what you call angels." Raphael responded. "How come you don't have wings or halo's?" Gabriel laughed at her question, she was sure that it wasn't everyday that the two angels encountered humans and their vastly limited comprehension of things beyond their world.
"Most of the beings here can change their appearance based on who they are speaking to." Ava watched as Gabriel sprouted to large feathery white wings from his back. The two wings were huge and they flapped in the air sending large gusts on wind into her face. "I can have wings. Or I can be a woman." Gabriel's face warped and his hair grew the below the length of his shoulders and suddenly he sported an impressive pair of breasts, he was truly a woman. "I can even look like you." His face slowly morphed into her own, and she was staring at an exact copy of herself. Her mind was currently to blown to be affected by the fact that there was a mirror like version of her standing feet in front of her.
"Well you can look like all of these things but what do you really look like?" Gabriel smiled and his figure began to change dramatically Raphael put a hand up, "Gabriel I don't think you should-" But his warning was too late, and now floating in the air above her was giant horrific looking eye with a dozen long scraggily white wings sprouting out of it, smaller eyes covering the feathers almost like a peacock's feathers. The sight was ghastly and Ava closed her eyes tightly together in fear. Thinking about something as scary as that and seeing something as scary as it in front of your own eyeballs was a completely different thing.
"Okay! Okay! Yeah I take back my question!" Ava heard a loud rustle and when it stopped she peaked an eye open and was met with Gabriel in the form she very much preferred.
"Reya told us these were the forms you would find the most appealing, our natural forms are not to be seen by the likes of humans, only to strike fear in the minds of demons." Reya's name brought her memory back to her mission. Getting to Reya so she could get back home. To her family. To Bea.
