fear was an emotion that chaeyoung often felt, though she tried her best not to show it when she did. though it seemed she didn't have to try, as the moment she stepped into the ceo's office, all the fear she once had, left her body— and was replaced by pure confusion.

because the view in front of her was none other than the woman from the elevator sitting in that seat, reading over some papers. the sound of chaeyoung's meek footsteps caused sharon to look up and make eye contact with her.

"ah, ms. son chaeyoung, you made it. i was wondering when you'd show up for yours." sharon said with a smile, ignoring the obvious look of shock on chaeyoung's face as she stood frozen with her jaw nearly reaching the floor. when she finally regained the ability to speak, all that came out was "y-you?"

"yes, me— i apologize for the confusion." sharon said with a short chuckle. "you're the myoui mina??" chaeyoung asked rather loudly this time, forgetting that the door was still open. she realized her mistake and quickly shut the door behind her before taking a seat in front of the ceo's desk.

the name plate on her desk was enough to answer chaeyoung's question, so she followed up with another question, "so you just made up a fake name or what?" which came off a bit more hostile than she'd intended. sharon seemed understanding of the situation, and simply found it amusing. "sharon is my english name."

all that chaeyoung responded with was a simple "oh" as she thought back to the moment they met, and began to regret how informal she had acted with her potential future boss. "sha— ms. myoui.. um.. i apologize for the way i acted before, i honestly had no ide—"

"it's not an issue." sharon reassured her. chaeyoung let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding as she tried to relax herself. she was a little out of it— she kept thinking back to the "conversation" she had with sharon just a few minutes prior. she felt a little silly for not picking up on it. no.. how was i supposed to know? no one outside of the company even knows what she looks like!

chaeyoung was brought back to reality when sharon cleared her throat. "shall we get started with the interview?"

...

"you're hired."

"wait, what?" chaeyoung was sure she misheard it. "i said, you're hired. you know, between you and me, i was already sure i would hire you— i just needed to get the actual interview over with beforehand." sharon explained as she leaned back in her seat.

the interview was quite a short one, and was mostly just sharon going over some points in chaeyoung's resume that she had inquiries about. she already knew that chaeyoung was more than qualified, and was more curious than anything.

the position was quite overhyped in sharon's opinion. all she needed her assistant to do was get her coffee in the mornings and organize things when she felt lazy— her previous assistant only left because she had a child.

she had taken a liking to chaeyoung when they met in the elevator, and felt she would be a good fit for her.

"really?! oh my god!" chaeyoung honestly couldn't believe it. "oh, sorry— i mean— thank you, ms. myoui!" she quickly corrected herself. sharon almost felt bad for the chaeyoung, the way she was so nervous around her. again, position overhyped. to sharon, she didn't mind the informality, and usually became good friends with her employees.

"i'm looking forward to working with you, chaeyoung." sharon said with a smile.
