"How the hell are you wearing a hoodie right now? I've got like three layers on right now, and I turned up the heat in the studio." Y/n said, turning to Jake.
"I'm just that hot."
"You keep telling yourself that, furnace boy."
"You about ready? Show starts in five."
"I've been ready Jake."
"Keep telling yourself that." Jake said, spinning her words back at her.
The show went by without a hitch, the two of them joking back and forth for the duration.
"Got any plans tonight?" Jake asked as they took off their headsets.
"Homework, maybe go hang out with Gale. You know, the usual." Y/n said, leaning back in her chair.
"Fun, just don't get into too much trouble alright, I know Gale is a bad influence, I can feel it in my gut." Jake teased.
"I think that's just gut rot Jake."
"Yeah probably that too."
"What are your plans?" She asked, turning her head to face him.
"Oh you know. Homework, irritating Josh, the usual."
"If anyone that we're hanging out with is a bad influence, it's not Gale. She doesn't stand a chance."
"Between her and Josh— I don't know, I think she's got more to her than we think."
"You know Jake, it's starting to sound like you have a crush on Gale." Y/n jested, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
"And you've got a crush on my brother so I guess we're both falling for bad influences." Jake said, earning a sharp look from Y/n.
"Have I ever told you how much I hate you?"
"A couple times yeah."
"I hate you."
"You couldn't hate me if you tried."
"You're making it pretty easy to."
Jake shot her a glare, seeing the goofy grin of her face as she watched his reaction.
"Do you wanna grab a coffee before you go to the library?" Jake asked as they walked out of the studio.
"Sure. You're buying."
"I guess."
"No, I wasn't asking if you wanted to. I'm telling you you are buying my coffee." Y/n said, looking at him with a neutral face.
"What's got you feeling so demanding today?"
"My empty bank account. That's what."
"Extra shot of espresso for you today?"
"Add some Bailey's into it too."
"You sure you wanna be alone tonight?" Jake asked, opening the café door for her.
"Nope, that's why I'll be with Gale."
The two sat and enjoyed a coffee with each other, killing the time with conversation.
"Alright miss lone wolf, I will let you go now. I have to get home." Jake said as he stood from his seat.
"Gotta get home to your mountains of homework?"
"That, and I have to make sure Josh is still alive."
"He's a big boy, I'm sure he can take care of himself. Is he that dependent?"
