Jake and Y/n eventually played to a halt, and she lifted her eyes once more to meet her co-host's gaze still on her, and she almost immediately averted her eyes back down to her guitar with a small smile.

The prep for the show was done relatively quickly, and Jake had moved across the studio from her, welcoming fellow students. She watched as a group of sorority girls walked through the front door, immediately beginning to flirt with Jake.

"Funny seeing you here."

She turned around, seeing the friendly face of Sam Kiszka looking at her with a goofy smile.

"Hiya Sammy!" She said, mirroring his smile.

"How's your day going?"

"Oh you know, getting pestered by your brother for being late, the usual."

"He does that all the time?"

"He does! He's late all the time, but any time I'm not fifteen to twenty minutes early he won't let it go."

"He's kind of a prick like that. I'm sorry you have to deal with him."

"It's no problem Sam, it's all jokes."

"He shouldn't do it all of the time though, that's not fair to you if he pulls the same shit."

There was a lull in the conversation, and Sam rocked back and forth on his heels for a minute before he broke the silence.

"So uh– you're an audio engineering major?"

"Yeah– you're astronomy right?"

"Yeah! You remembered."

"Hard to forget after you told me all about the dwarf galaxies."

"Oh–" He chuckled.

"–yeah– I kinda tend to ramble when it comes to space." He said, looking down at his still moving feet.

"That's alright, I learned some new stuff. I actually learned a fun fact about space if you wanna hear it."

"Well duh!" He said enthusiastically, waiting for her to tell him.

"At any given time–"

"–If you look hard enough at the sky, there it is."

He stared at her for a moment, his smile becoming wider. She looked at him nervously, letting out a small chuckle under breath.

"That's crazy, where'd you hear that?" He joked, breaking out into laughter.

"I'm not sure, it's almost like the universe told me itself."

In the corner of the studio, Josh stood watching his brother's face flush a brilliant shade of red as he laughed at whatever Y/n was saying.

"Really Sam, you too?" He murmured, looking over to see Jake surrounded by people, but his gaze was locked on Y/n.

"Have you met Danny yet?"

"Who?"

"Oh my god, okay he said he'd be coming in today, you gotta meet him. He's my best friend, I'll go see if he's here and I'll meet up with you later."

"Sounds like a plan Sammy." She said, watching him as he turned around and immediately began looking for his friend.

Y/n's eyes began panning the studio, taking in how many people had actually shown up. She fixed her posture, readying herself to walk to Jake and help with greeting everyone, but was quickly interrupted, feeling someone yank on her arm and turn her around.

"You know, if I didn't know any better I'd think that Jake might have a bit of a crush on you." Josh said as he walked through the entrance to the bathroom, dragging Y/n along behind him.
