Gerard talked to me the entire time. A voice inside my head was thinking, join in the conversation, Katrina. Be fun! While the other part of my brain said, Take his wallet and scram! He won't know what hit him! You guys probably guessed what I did after, can't you. . .

I joined the conversation, pausing to laugh at his jokes, and nodding in consent. I don't hate people . . . It's just, well, I strongly dislike them. But Gerard is different. He doesn't brag about how many girl he's dated, or how smart he is, which he is, by the way.

But the more he talked,

The more I crawled away

Because I love him

But I don't know how to express myself.

I pointed to my house across the street. "Um, Gerard? That's my house. Thanks for walking with me . . ." I sent a nervous wave before heading across the street.

He pulled me close to his chest, breathing in the scent of my coconut shampoo. It was kind of awkward, with me squished against him, forcing me to heavily breathe into his leather jacket. It sounded like I was dying. . .

Was this intentional?

A few seconds later, he let me up for air.

He saw my face, which was now red and flushed from just have being suffocated.

"Oh my god, Katrina . . . I almost killed you!" His low, throaty laugh almost made me forget about where I was going.

He flashed a crooked smile.

"Just wanted to say goodbye without words, you know? I get so tired of talking."

I glared at him. "Who told you that, your therapist?"

Gerard looked hurt, and I was hurt, but God, doesn't everyone deserve to be hurt at least once?

Damn these mood swings.

I walked back to him, eyes full of sympathy and hope, and all that other crap they talk about in women's magazines.

"Oh, Gee . . . I didn't mean to hurt you." I told him.

He started walking in the other direction, ignoring me and my apology.

But just as he started to walk away, I saw his face for a brief second.

He was hurt. Angry.

Full of revenge.

Love or hate

Those were the eyes of a killer.

Whoa! I bet you didn't see that coming, did you? Excited to hear the next chapter? Vote! And thankya, Coras_books for inspiring me. *cyber cookie^-^
