Chapter 18: First Words

Diamond turned one yesterday. She's grown over the months. But she still the little fallen angel I gave birth to.

"Dianite, could you get me a towel?" I asked him.

"Sure," he said as a towel appeared in his hand.

I grabbed the towel with my free hand and then said, "Thanks."

"No problem my dear," he said he kissed my head.

I pulled the right side of my hoodie, tank top, and bra over my right breast, then placed the towel below it. Then I started to breast feed Diamond. (A/N 😖 Talk about awkward moment.) To be honest, I kind of feels weird having a tiny infant drinking milk from your breast. But I guess that's life.

For some reason she gets fussy we I feed her. The only to calm her down is by singing, and I don't mind.

I took a deep breath, and I started to sing,

Once I finished singing. Diamond finished "eating", so I placed the towel on my shoulder and pulled down my clothes. I placed Diamond on my shoulder with the towel on it. Then I started to pat her back lightly in till I heard I quiet burp.

I smiled, I love her to death. I placed her on my right arm and handed Dianite the towel, and then it was gone. I started to walk toward the crib to put her in her down for her nap.

Once she was tucked in, I said "Sleep well, mommy and daddy love you." Then I dined the lights, and me and Dianite started to walk out. But we were stopped by a word or words.

"I wub you too," Diamond said.

Me and Dianite turned around a starred at our daughter. I walked to the crib and said, "Hey Diamond, can you say mommy for me?"

"Mom...ma," she stuttered.

"How about daddy," said Dianite.

"Da...da," she stuttered.

I smiled, and then said, "Momma's happy for you my little fallen angel. Now go to sleep I'll see you in a little bit ok?"

"O..k...," she sleepily said. Then she fell asleep.

Me and Dianite then walked out the room, and closed the door softly.

'I can't believe she said her first words!'
