Less than a year before the story takes place: December 15th, 4780 1:45 AM

The night was cold and still compared to others. The winter weather was starting to set in and the chill from the air had the entire crew wishing they could be home already. The overwhelming silence made everyone aboard tense as they worked the fishing ship, not to mention the terrifying blood red moon above in the dark sky.

It'd been two days on sea with barely any rest trying to get a good catch and the crew was visibly exhausted but happy to finally be heading home. But that happiness was short-lived.

A thick fog had started to settle in as they started to pass by Mako island, the home of once thought myths and fantasies. Creatures the world discovered to be true over 2,000 years prior as well as others horrifying things.

"Captain! There's a fog settling in, we might need to stop until it clears out!" James shouts down to the crew from the watchtower. Captain Henry grunts as a response, hating that they would have to wait out the fog. He slowed down bringing the ship to a full stop not wanting to risk his crew by trying to navigate the fog.

This was the captain's last mistake

Through the silence a distinct voice was heard...Someone was singing...a woman, and her voice was heavenly the most beautiful voice they'd ever heard. The woman's voice was so hypnotizing the crew couldn't help but be drawn toward it. James followed the voice walking off the tower in his daze, falling down and breaking his neck on the ship's rails.

The captain of the ship watched as the poor man fell to his death and the other crew members walked straight into the ocean as if under a spell. He yelled out in distress leaving the wheel trying to pull as many as he could back from the edge.

"The hell's gotten into you lads!" He shouted. And that's when he heard it, the singing. "No no NO! You evil bastards are supposed to be dead!" he whimpered out in his thick Irish accent. The man heard the first screams of those who had already sealed their fates and he ran for his shotgun. Henry tried his best to shoot for the moving figures in the water but was failing.

When he heard the painful screech of something that definitely was not human he lowered the gun satisfied with himself. That was until a trident plunged itself into his chest launching him backward 5 feet. The man crashed into a large pile of boxes that didn't do much to help the impact.

A tall feminine figure walked toward him as it watched him choke and drown in his own blood. The crystal blue eyes stared into his as she yanked the trident out of his chest and continued to watch the life leave his eyes.

The creature moved his hair out of his face and closed the land dweller's eyes before using her claws to carve a symbol into his flesh, licking the blood off her fingers after with a grin.

A sadistic chuckle left her throat. "Humans...Such idiotic little creatures, but don't worry soon enough you'll cease to exist." with that she grabs the trident and dives into the depths of the ocean.
