A massive ball of fire and light rushed towards the earth, twisting and blazing through the atmosphere. The clan cats quickly scrambled for the safest hiding places, but for most it was too late. The meteor speedily twisted through forests, mountains, moors, and plains, burning all the existing camps and wiping out most of the clan cats.
The medicine cats had been warned by starclan of the meteor, but only a few of the cats of the clans had believed them, including the deputy of windclan, two of the medicine cats, (the other medicine cats had stayed with their clans who tried to protect them and convince them) three warriors, two apprentices , and the medicine cats snuck the three kits out of camp.
The group's medicine cats had planned ahead and found the safest spot; the crystal caverns. This was where the medicine cats went to share with starclan when they needed a stronger connection, and it was far below the dangerous surface. All the small group of cats could do was hope that the meteor would not reach this far underground.
Sadly, the second medicine cat, the deputy's sister, did not make it through the meteor. However, her reason of death was not the meteor. Instead, she had been bitten by a snake that was creeping through the cave as they entered. Eaglewhisker would be remembered for many moons as the cat the guided them to safety, by every single cat there was left.
