It was about twelve at midnight. Hallie Trainor was slowly unpacking her items and gifts from her recent move and birthday. She glared at her phone alarm, which was playing the standard AT&T melody. Hallie rubbed her eyes, turned off the phone alarm, got a snack, and took a shower before prodding with the cardboard boxes anymore. She had just moved to California for a decent job, and since her family was bugging her most of the time.

After the shower, Hallie changed into her pajamas, which were just a simple gray T-shirt, and a pair of red shorts with a white stripe on the side.

She looked at the laptop which was revealing itself amongst the boxes, its beautiful polished cover was shining, just like it was meant to be.

Hallie had a YouTube channel, which was called "HalPlays." So far, it was just filled with videos from 2009, with her filming gameplay of Team Fortress and such.

Finally, she decided to set up her laptop and recording equipment in her bedroom. It would take awhile to--

The lights flickered off. When Hallie fiddled with the light switch, turing it on and off repeatedly, the lights wouldn't turn on. She grabbed her coat, changed into a longer pair of pants, and left the house.

She went directly next door and knocked three times.

"Hello?" A man opened the door, dressed in a gray T-shirt and green shorts. He leaned against the doorframe patiently, smiling at Hallie.

"Uh, hi. My name is Hallie, and I just recently moved in," she began.

The man nodded. "Hi, Hallie. I'm Jordan."

"Hello, Jordan. Sorry to interrupt on whatever you're doing, but I think I had a power outage." Hallie looked down and twiddled with her thumbs before receiving an answer from Jordan. She has to admit, Jordan was pretty attractive.

"Where do you live?"

"Next door."

"Okay, I'll see what I can do."

Hallie led Jordan into her home. As they both entered, Jordan fixed the power shenanigans and the lights flickered back on immediately.

"Would you like to stay for awhile, Jordan?"

"Sure. You look like you need help unpacking."

"Yeah, I guess I do." Hallie chucked and looked at the mess of boxes.

"Let's get to work."
