"I don't need Tumblr to tell me I'm a good writer
If I submit a good poem that doesn't get published I don't get depressed
Well maybe a little
But if mine didn't get picked maybe there's a good reason
Maybe the poem that did get picked changed a life
Maybe it took a person off that ledge
Or it put a smile on a face that hasn't LOL'd in a really long time
Maybe it gave hope to a lonely soul that just had a death in their family
Maybe it helped distract someone's sorrow long enough to realize they were hungry
Whatever the reason there is a reason
Maybe the void I feel now is meant to be filled by my next inspirational haiku
So I'll keep submitting my poems hoping that one day I'm the one that gets to rescue you"
