TaylorThe blue car did not win.
Imagine my disappointment when Selena broke it down to me that the chances of my pick winning were slim to none.
The red car to which Selena explained was a Ferrari, won against the black one which was a Mercedes by a little over a second.
My eyes were drawn to the podium, where the driver began to celebrate, but the excitement around me seemed to blur into the background noise.
As the driver peeled off their helmet, a jolt of recognition shot through me. It was her—the same person from the Met, the one in the golden dress who had vanished into the crowd without a trace. My breath caught, and the familiar pang of curiosity mixed with a tinge of disbelief.
Despite the distance from where I sat, and the hazy outlines of the crowd, I just could tell that was her.
Selena noticed my gaze, leaning forward "That's Mia Carter, she's the one you should've bet on."
I stared at Selena, my mind struggling to piece everything together. "Mia Carter?" I echoed, the name unfamiliar yet suddenly significant.
Selena nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "She's been making waves in F1 for a while now. She's amazing."
I glanced back down at Mia, now surrounded by her team, celebrating the victory.
"She's incredible," I stated.
Selena laughed nodding "Yea, she is."
"Since when did you get into racing." I asked taking a drink of the wine
"Honestly I don't know, I was just watching it and I got addicted to it." She said as she brought out her phone
"Sel, come on." I smirk, seeing right through the lies on her tongue.
She rolled her eyes, "Orlando had tickets to the F1 race in Venice--."
"Orlando?! Orlando Bloom?" I gasped placing the glass on the table as I stared at my friend in shock "When was this?"
She tilted her head, her tongue on the roof of her mouth "Three months ago in Venice."
I sputtered, actually spitting out a bit of my wine in disbelief. "What?!" I managed, wiping my mouth.
The girl rolled her eyes jokingly "It was casual."
"Wait, no way! Tell me more!" I urged, leaning closer and touching her shoulder. "I want to hear everything."
Selena raised an eyebrow, her expression turning mischievous. "I'll spill if you tell me what happened between you and Adam."
I let out a groan, sinking back into my chair. "Ugh, he was a total jerk, that's what happened."
"Yeah, he is," she agreed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But there's more, isn't there? I'll tell you all about Venice if you spill it on Adam." She blinked at me innocently, taking a slow, coy sip of her wine.
I tilt my head pointing a finger before saying a word "He was never fully invested in the relationship, you know that."
"Is that why you got with a certain English Actor." She squinted, I stared at her in confusion "Girl it's all over Twitter." She explained, holding her phone out.
I tilt my head taking the phone. Videos of me obviously drunk out of my mind dancing on Tom Hiddleston.
"Oh my God," I muttered, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.
